  • Publication number: 20240082051
Abstract: Apparatus for cooling an object, space, or tissues of a patient. A vacuum chamber is designed to be placed in thermal contact with the object or space to be cooled, or against a patient to be treated. A water sprayer is configured to spray water into the vacuum chamber or against a cooling wall of the chamber. A vacuum pump and control are designed to maintain vacuum below ambient pressure in the vacuum chamber sufficient to cause accelerated evaporation of the water and cooling to a temperature desired for cooling of the object, space, or patient.

  • Patent number: 11446075
Abstract: A method and system for automated and semi-automated predictable, consistent, safe, effective, and lumen-specific and patient-specific cryospray treatment of airway tissue in which treatment duration is automatically set by the system following entry of patient information and treatment location information into the system by the user, and treatment spray is automatically stopped by the system when the automatically selected treatment duration has been achieved as determined by the system.

  • Patent number: 9595100
Abstract: Components, e.g., background, cytoplasm, nucleus and nucleolus, of a biological specimen are identified using multi-wavelength analysis. Specimen components, such as nucleoli, are selected, and a determination is made whether cells having nucleoli are cancer cells or regular repair cells based on one or more physical characteristics of the identified component. The physical characteristics can be one or more of a shape, size, texture and gray value.

  • Patent number: 7494472
Abstract: A ductal access device is provided for accessing a breast duct and collecting biological material from within the duct. The access device may include an elongated member having an outer diameter sized for positioning within the breast duct and an internal lumen for infusing a fluid into the breast duct and collecting fluid from the breast duct. The elongated member may include a central axis extending through the internal lumen and a different axis being parallel to the central axis defining an off-axis configuration. An elongated distal tip extends beyond the distal end of the internal lumen and along the different axis. The elongated distal tip has a closed distal end for navigating within the breast duct. The elongated distal tip may include an internal passageway that is sized to slidiably or removably receive an elongated introducer.
