  • Patent number: 6518369
Abstract: The present invention relates to filled rubber mixes made from polyether/diolefin rubbers. The rubber mixes according to the present invention are suitable for the production of highly reinforced, abrasion-resistant moldings, in particular for the production of tires which exhibit low rolling resistance and elevated wet skid resistance.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 14, 2001
Date of Patent: February 11, 2003
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Thomas Scholl, Werner Obrecht, Wilfried Braubach, Ellen Giebeler, Michael Grün, Axel Müller, Mabel Graf

  • Patent number: 6417285
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for the production of a copolymer based on vinyl aromatic compounds and conjugated dienes, in which after polymerization, the copolymers are treated with multi-functional sulfur halides in the presence of a catalyst at temperatures in the range from 20 to 130° C. The copolymers produced according to the present invention demonstrate clearly improved processing characteristics as a result of selective masticating effect and good mechanical properties.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 18, 2001
Date of Patent: July 9, 2002
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Ellen Giebeler, Heinz-Dieter Brandt, Rüdiger Engehausen, Günter Marwede
  • Patent number: 6399726
Abstract: The present invention concerns a method for the copolymerization of conjugated diolefins and vinyl-aromatic monomers in the presence of rare-earth catalysts and the use of the copolymers in rubber mixtures for tire applications.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 15, 2000
Date of Patent: June 4, 2002
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Heike Windisch, Jürgen Trimbach, Peter Schertl, Ellen Giebeler, Rüdiger Engehausen
  • Publication number: 20020022704
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved process for producing di- or trifunctional initiator systems based on lithium and their use for the polymerization of conjugated dienes, in particular for the copolymerization of conjugated dienes with aromatic vinyl compounds.
    Type: Application
