  • Publication number: 20020115808
Abstract: Adhesives useful in applying articles, such as tapes, labels, signs, decals, emblems, car moldings, protective or optical films, etc., to surfaces to which articles normally do not adhere well, such as surfaces containing fluorine and polycarbonate, for example. The adhesives include a copolymer of one or more monoethylenically unsaturated alkyl (meth)acrylate monomers, one or more monoethylenically unsaturated secondary or tertiary amide-functional monomers, and optionally one or more acidic monomers.

  • Patent number: 6416201
Abstract: An illuminated sign system provides uniform illumination over the lamp face by using partially transmissive lamp masks located between the lamps and the sign face. The sign face itself also diffusely reflects at least a majority of light incident on its second surface back towards the interior of the sign. The lamp spacing ratio in the illuminated signs can be increased, e.g., to a ratio of 3:1 or more, and, possibly, to a ratio of 4:1 or more.

  • Publication number: 20020034608
Abstract: The present invention provides perforated film constructions, sign faces including the film constructions, and signs including the sign faces, all of which are capable of having one appearance under light ambient lighting conditions, and another appearance when backlit under dark ambient lighting conditions. The construction is generally planar and includes perforations that occupy, e.g., about 10-35% of the major surfaces of the construction. The perforations are separated by an opaque land area. The back surface of the film construction in the land area (i.e., the surface that is adapted to face the interior of the sign) reflects, e.g., at least about 50% of normal light incident thereon.

  • Publication number: 20020011016
Abstract: A lighted sign housing is provided having a sign face with both light-transmissive portions and light-blocking portions; and a reflective film applied to at least a portion of the light-blocking portions toward the interior of the sign housing. A method of using the reflective film is also provided.

  • Patent number: 5144051
Abstract: Disclosed are C.sub.6 to C.sub.11 branched chain alkoxy monosubstituted diaryl iodonium salts, such as [4-(2-ethylhexyloxy)phenyl]phenyliodonium hexafluoroantimonate. These diaryl iodonium salts are useful as photoinitiators for epoxy containing compounds, especially epoxysilanes.
