Patent number: 11803902Abstract: In some examples, a payment instrument is associated with a financing limit. A processor may receive, from a point of sale (POS) device associated with a merchant, an authorization request to authorize the payment instrument for a purchase of one or more first items having a purchase amount that is greater than the first amount. The processor may determine that the first item is a type of item in an inventory of a business of the user. Based at least on determining that a quantity of the type of item in the inventory is below a threshold quantity, changing the first amount to a second amount that is based on the purchase amount. Based at least on changing the first amount, sending to the POS device, an indication that the payment instrument is authorized for the second amount.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2021Date of Patent: October 31, 2023Assignee: BLOCK, INC.Inventors: Varun Kerof, Elliot Block, Kelvin Chou, Theodore Kosev

Patent number: 11580599Abstract: In some examples, a computing device receives, from a point of sale (POS) device of a merchant, an authorization request for authorizing a payment instrument for a transaction for an item. The computing device sends an authorization approval to the POS device, and determines that a user is eligible for a loan for an amount and the loan is to be repaid at a particular frequency during a period of time. The computing device determines that an amount of the transaction is less than or equal to the amount, and causes an offer for the loan to be presented via a user interface of a payment application that is executable by a user device of the user. Based on acceptance of the loan, the computing device applies the loan funds to the transaction for the item, and the loan is repaid at the particular frequency.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2022Date of Patent: February 14, 2023Assignee: BLOCK, INC.Inventors: Varun Kerof, Elliot Block, Kelvin Chou, Theodore Kosev

Patent number: 11107157Abstract: Techniques for intelligently modifying capital loan offerings at a point-of-sale (POS) are described. Server(s) can receive, from a first POS device associated with a first merchant, transaction data associated with transaction(s) between the first merchant and customer(s). The server(s) can determine that the first merchant is eligible for a capital loan of a first amount. The server(s) can receive, from a second POS device associated with a second merchant, an authorization request to authorize a payment instrument, having a limit based on the first amount, for a purchase having a purchase amount greater than the first amount, and the server(s) can determine to increase the first amount to a second amount. The server(s) can send, to the second POS device, an indication that the payment instrument is authorized for at least the second amount, thereby modifying the amount of the capital loan at the POS.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2018Date of Patent: August 31, 2021Assignee: SQUARE, INC.Inventors: Varun Kerof, Elliot Block, Kelvin Chou, Theodore Kosev

Patent number: 7939117Abstract: This invention provides a rumen-bypass dietary supplement in compacted particulate form. The supplement has the capability to transport fatty acid calcium salt and between about 65-96 percent of rumen-protected undegraded aminoacid content to the post-ruminal digestive system of a ruminant. A feedstock containing the supplement for ruminants benefically improves feed efficiency and body growth. The feedstock also is adapted to improve the lactational performance of dairy cattle.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2006Date of Patent: May 10, 2011Assignee: Church & Dwight Co., Inc.Inventors: William J. Zuccarello, Elliot Block, Edward Roman, Zbigniew Sek, Kenneth R. Cummings

Publication number: 20040248977Abstract: The present invention provides a feedstock for intensive feeding of replacement dairy heifers to promote rapid growth, and facilitate early breeding and first calving at an age of about 20-24 months. The calved heifers subsequently yield increased first lactation milk production and lifetime milk. An essential ingredient of the invention feedstock is conjugated linoleic acid derivative having remen-bypass properties. The quantity of conjugated linoleic acid derivative is effective for prevention of mammary gland tissue damage by minimizing mammary fat content. A preferred feedstock includes a content of slow-release degradable nitrogen source for efficient rumen fermentation, and a content of rumen-bypass protein.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 26, 2004Publication date: December 9, 2004Inventors: Elliot Block, William K Sanchez, Kenneth Cummings

Patent number: 6818235Abstract: The present invention provides a method for beneficial control of body condition and dietary energy balance in dairy cattle during colostrum milk production. An important aspect of the beneficial control is the provision of a feedstock which has a supplemented content of trans-10, cis-12 conjugated linoleic acid derivative having rumen-bypass properties. The ingested quantity of CLA derivative ingredient per cow is effective for lowering and maintaining the fat content of colostrum milk in the range between about 4-6 weight percent and for increasing milk yield. The presence of cis-9, trans-11 conjugated linoleic acid structural isomer in an invention feedstock is minimized, because it counteracts the beneficial effects of the trans-10, cis-12 conjugated linoleic acid structural isomer, such as reduction in milk yield.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2001Date of Patent: November 16, 2004Assignee: Church & Dwight Co., Inc.Inventors: Elliot Block, William K. Sanchez, Kenneth R. Cummings

Patent number: 6596768Abstract: This invention provides a feedstock for ruminants which beneficially improves feed efficiency and body growth. The feedstock also is adapted to improve the lactational performance of dairy cattle. The recovered milk product has a milk fat profile with an increased proportion of unsaturated fatty acid constituents. The enhanced benefits exhibited by an invention feedstock are derived from essential ingredients such as unsaturated fatty acid derivative having rumen-bypass properties, and an effective additive quantity of cyclic polyether ionophorous antibiotic.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2001Date of Patent: July 22, 2003Assignee: Church & Dwight Co., Inc.Inventors: Elliot Block, William K. Sanchez, Kenneth R. Cummings
