  • Patent number: 10584237
Abstract: A propylene-based polymer composition is characterized by a melt strength at 190° C. of at least 20 cN, a melt drawability at 190° C. of at least 100 mm/s, and a flexural modulus at room temperature of at least 240,000 psi. The propylene-based polymer composition includes a propylene-based polymer resin having a crystallinity of at least 50% coupled with a poly(sulfonyl azide).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 15, 2016
Date of Patent: March 10, 2020
    Assignee: Braskem America, Inc.
Inventors: Elliot Carnevale, Riley Stevens, Kimberly Miller McLoughlin, William Scott Miller, Michael Robert Stephans, Steven Michael Krupinski
  • Patent number: 10113058
Abstract: A polymer composition providing optical clarity and impact resistance includes from about 40 weight percent (wt. %) to about 99.9 wt. % (e.g., 50-95 wt. %) of a continuous matrix, and from about 0.01 wt. % to about 60 wt. % (e.g., 5-50 wt. %) of a dispersed phase. The weight percentages of the matrix phase and the dispersed phase are based on the total weight of the matrix phase and the dispersed phase. The matrix phase may comprise a polypropylene polymer comprising from 0 to 7 mole percent (mol. %) of units derived from ethylene, a C4-C10 alpha olefin or combinations thereof. The dispersed phases may be a propylene/alpha olefin copolymer having from 10 mol. % to 70 mol. % of units derived from ethylene or a C4-C10 alpha olefin or combinations thereof.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: October 30, 2018
    Assignee: Braskem America, Inc.
Inventors: Leslie Bockman, Elliot Carnevale, Jon Scott Larson, Kevin Herrington
