  • Patent number: 10681168
Abstract: According to various exemplary embodiments, professional identity content associated with a member of a social network service is identified, based on a network search for online content that contains online content attributes that match member profile attributes included in member profile data associated with the member. Thereafter, a display of a prompt is generated, via a user interface in a device, wherein the prompt invites the member to update a member profile page associated with the member, based on the identified professional identity content.

  • Patent number: 10320937
Abstract: A notification machine may receive an update to a user profile that describes a user and indicates a group of users as being socially connected to the user by a social network. The update may reference a community (e.g., an employer or a club) of the user. The user profile may be modified by including a reference to the community within the user profile. The notification machine may identify a further user who is included in the community (e.g., employed by the employer, or part of the club). The further user may be socially unconnected to the user by the social network. The notification machine may then generate and provide a notification that the further user is employed by the employer. This notification may contain suggestions that the user initiate communication with the further user, become socially connected with the further user, or both.

  • Patent number: 9536245
Abstract: A system for providing an individual user with customized information is described. The user provides the system with the user's preferences. The system compares each user's preferences to a database to provide the user with notification via an e-mail newsletter sent over a computer network. The newsletter is individually prepared for each user by dynamically populating the newsletter with the necessary information as the newsletter is being sent to the individual. Thus, there is no need to first prepare the newsletter, store it, send it, and delete it. This approach reduces the need for more equipment as the number of needed newsletters increases.

  • Publication number: 20150128038
Abstract: According to various exemplary embodiments, it is determined that a particular user is associated with a particular member segment of a networking website. Further, a task prioritization list associated with the particular member segment is accessed. The task prioritization list may include a prioritized list of profile update tasks associated with successful user profile pages of the particular member segment. Moreover, a prompt is displayed inviting the particular user to update the particular user profile page based on the task prioritization list (e.g., by referring to the member segment and at least one of the tasks in the task prioritization list).
