  • Patent number: 6106762
Abstract: A process which entails providing a preform formulated of polymeric material formed to permit the introduction of a fluid under pressure into the preform, heating the preform to a temperature at or above the glass transition temperature of the polymeric material and below the melting temperature of the polymeric material, placing the heated preform into a substantially cylindrical mold with a polished seamless inside surface, introducing a fluid under pressure into the heated preform while maintaining the preform axially centered in the mold, thereby causing the preform to expand without contacting the mold surface, subsequently causing the preform to expand until it contacts the mold surface, heating the expanded preform to an appropriate heat setting temperature above the stretching temperature and below the melting temperature of the polymeric material while maintaining fluid pressure, and subsequently cooling the set preform, resulting in formation of a biaxially oriented seamless belt.

  • Patent number: 5300391
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for preparing a multilayered cylindrical article which comprises introducing into a cylindrical mold a composition comprising a liquid, uncured resin material and a magnetically attractable filler material, spinning the mold about its axis, applying a magnetic field to the composition within the mold, thereby attracting the magnetically attractable filler material in the direction dictated by the magnetic field and causing the magnetically attractable filler material and the liquid uncured resin material to separate into layers, and subsequently curing the uncured resin to form a cylindrical article having at least two layers. Subsequent to formation, the multilayered cylindrical article can be coated with additional layers. Further, additional layers can be added to either the inside or outside surface of the cylinder by introducing the additional layer material into the mold and spin casting to form a layer.

  • Patent number: 4971331
Abstract: A strategy game device having a support base with a top surface and at least three peg receptacles, each rotatably connected to the base at the center of the receptacle. Each receptacle has at least three peg-receiving holes equally spaced about the periphery of the receptacle. The number of holes in each receptacle is the same. There are at least two sets of pegs and each set comprises a number of pegs which can be inserted in the aforementioned holes. Each set has a color different than the color of the other sets. In one version the centers of the peg receptacles are spaced apart along a straight line extending parallel to the top surface of the base. In another version the peg receptacles are circular and are rotatable about a common center axis. In the preferred version of this embodiment, each receptacle has eight peg-receiving holes equally spaced from one another about the periphery.

  • Patent number: 4828770
Abstract: Apparatus for extruding a pliable, thin-walled tube comprising an extrusion and shaping die assembly comprising an annular die body, a mandrel supported within the annular die body, a mandrel extension mounted on the mandrel adjacent the die outlet, the mandrel extension having a diameter less than the diameter of the mandrel, a sizing disk supported by the mandrel extension, and a source capable of supplying molten polymeric material to the die assembly under pressure to force the material through an annular extrusion flow channel around the mandrel and out the die outlet thereby forming a moving tube of the material, the mandrel extension extending outwardly from the die in the direction in which the tube is extruded, the annular die body having at least one fluid passageway to channel fluid introduced under pressure into the annular die body axially through the mandrel and outwardly from the axis of the mandrel extension to form an air pillow adapted to cool and support the tube around and spaced from the

  • Patent number: 4698196
Abstract: Apparatus for preparing seamless, creaseless, pliable, thin-walled tubes comprising means to extrude a moving continuous tube of polymeric film material from a die, means to radially stretch the continuous tube as it emerges from the die, means to longitudinally stretch the tube, and means to sever the tube while the tube is in motion to form tube segments while maintaining the tube substantially free of creases. This apparatus may be employed in a process to prepare seamless, creaseless, pliable, thin-walled tubes.
