  • Patent number: 6937137
Abstract: A method of keyless locking of a motor vehicle is described. A transponder exchanges a code with a transceiver. A control unit compares this code with the expected code and, if a match is found, activates a closing system of the vehicle in the sense of locking it. This control unit activates at least one display means. A locking command is generated on actuation of at least one operating element. In a first step, a search signal is delivered by the transceiver when the operating element is actuated in order to determine the position of the transponder on the basis of the response signal sent back by the transponder. In a second step, the display means is activated when the transponder is in the interior of the vehicle and/or on the side of the vehicle opposite the actuated operating element. In a third step, the closing system is activated in the sense of locking it if the operating element has been actuated again.

  • Patent number: 6847289
Abstract: A device for initiating an opening and locking procedure of a motor vehicle. The device includes a first proximity sensor which generates an unlocking intent signal for initiating an opening procedure of a closing system of a vehicle when a user approaches the first proximity sensor. A second proximity sensor is also provided, generating a locking intent signal for initiating a locking procedure of the closing system of the vehicle when a user approaches the second proximity sensor.

  • Publication number: 20040124708
Abstract: A keyless entry system for a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, the keyless entry system including a device for unlocking at least one locked door of the vehicle in response to an electronic door opener being manipulated, and the device having at least one input element accessible from the outside of the vehicle. It is provided, that the door of the vehicle may be opened by inputting a code at one or a maximum of two input elements, the code being made up of a sequence of digital or quasi-digital signals, which are generated by alternately manipulating or not manipulating the input element(s).

  • Publication number: 20040046639
Abstract: A device according to the present invention is proposed for the keyless operation of a motor vehicle (8), having a transponder (14) that sends a code to at least one transceiver (12). A control unit (10) compares the code to an expected code, and upon agreement, enables at least one component (16, 18) necessary for the operation of the motor vehicle (8), and deactivates it in the shutdown state of the motor vehicle (8). A timer (T2, T3) is provided, whose output value is compared to a specifiable time duration (t2, t3), the at least one component (16, 18) necessary for the operation of the motor vehicle (8) being deactivated when the output value of the timer (T2, T3) exceeds the specifiable time duration (t2, t3).

  • Patent number: 6701225
Abstract: A system for performing an electronic control in open or closed loop, in particular of functions of a motor vehicle, including at least one electronic control unit and at least one actuator and/or sensor assigned to the control unit, the at least one actuator and/or sensor being controllable via a control unit-actuator/sensor interface, in which variant-determining circuit elements which are arranged outside of the control unit, in particular driver modules are provided between the respective interfaces and the actuator and/or sensor.

  • Patent number: 6693581
Abstract: A device for data transmission in a motor vehicle and/or from a motor vehicle in its vicinity includes a first transceiver unit in or on the motor vehicle and a second transceiver unit. which is provided in at least one transponder unit whose spatial position relative to the vehicle may be variable or any desired position. In the first transceiver unit is a radar unit equipped for distance measurement, expanded by adding a two-channel data transmission system. The second transceiver unit is also a two-channel data transmission unit, and the microwave frequencies for two-channel communication of the data transmission system are selected so that their difference yields an intermediate frequency which is processable using conventional components in a heterodyne receiver in the reception part of each of the first and second transceiver units.

  • Patent number: 6438466
Abstract: A device is proposed for ascertaining distance and transmitting data in a motor vehicle. It has a transmitting arrangement for generating and emitting a radar signal. A receiving arrangement receives a radar signal. It is characterized in that switchover arrangements are provided which cause the transmitting and/or receiving arrangement to operate either in a radar operating mode for detecting the distance and/or speed of a further object, or in a data-exchange operating mode for the exchange of data with a transceiver. Specific functions are enabled in dependence on the data exchange.
