  • Patent number: 5679311
Abstract: A storage container for analytical test elements includes a guide mechanism thereupon. The storage container holds a plurality of test elements attached to a tape, with each of the test elements including a test zone thereupon. The storage container is configured to expel individual test elements by passing the tape over the guide mechanism, thereby changing a direction of movement of the tape by the guide mechanism. This action detaches a test element from the tape.

  • Patent number: 5609823
Abstract: System for the analysis of sample liquids with test elements. The system comprises an instrument with a storage container for test elements and a measuring device. Test elements are located inside the storage container which have a test zone on the front side of a transparent pin.

  • Patent number: 5535743
Abstract: A device for the in vivo determination of an optical property of the aqueous humor in the anterior chamber of the eye includes a light source to irradiate light along a primary-side light path into the anterior chamber of an eye. A detector is provided, in order to detect light issuing from the anterior chamber along a secondary-side light path. A signal processing unit is provided to determine the optical properties on the basis of the measured signal of the detector. A routine in vivo examination of the aqueous humor of the eye, with minor inconvenience to the patient, can be achieved due to the fact that the device can be easily positioned in front of the eye. The central rays of the primary-side light path and of the secondary-side light path form, with the normals to surface of the cornea bordering the anterior chamber, an angle (.alpha., .beta.) such that the detector detects light reflected from the front interface of the eye lens.

  • Patent number: 5131756
Abstract: Test carrier analysis device for determining the reflectivity of a test field surface (measurement surface). An optical unit (2) of the device contains several light transmitters (6, 7) and a measurement receiver, and the light transmitters are directed obliquely from above onto the measurement surface. Improved accuracy without additional outlay is achieved by the fact that the light transmitters (6, 7) in the optical unit (2) are arranged opposite one another with off-set planes of incidence (28, 29).

  • Patent number: 4985205
Abstract: Test carrier analysis system for the analytical determination of a component of a sample fluid, in particular of a body fluid. The system comprises test carriers (1) with a color formation layer (5) which is attached movably to the test carrier. The color formation layer is in the initial state of the test carrier not in fluid contact with a fluid reservoir layer (4) likewise attached to the test carrier, but can be pressed against the latter by external manipulation. The system also incorporates an evaluation apparatus with a pressure element (10a) for the pressing of the color formation layer (5) and a control unit (25) for controlling the apparatus functions.
