  • Patent number: 11584365
Abstract: A method for selecting and executing at least one reactive action of a vehicle includes a control unit receiving sensor data from a vehicle sensor system; detecting an emergency situation based on the sensor data; performing an evaluation; and selecting and implementing a reactive action for minimizing an accident risk of the vehicle based on the evaluation, where, in the evaluation, sensors that are uninvolved in the detection of the emergency situation are not taken into account or are taken into account at a lower weighting, are operated at a reduced performance, and/or are operated with a reduced scanning range. In addition, a control unit, computer program, and machine-readable memory medium can be provided for implementing the method.

  • Publication number: 20210170821
Abstract: A method for ascertaining a relative angle between a first longitudinal axis of a towing vehicle and a second longitudinal axis of a vehicle that is mechanically coupled to the towing vehicle, including: detecting a light unit situated at the vehicle using a camera unit situated at the towing vehicle to obtain image information of the light unit; recognizing the light unit in the obtained image information, using an optical signal that is emitted by the detected light unit to obtain position information of the light unit, the position information representing a spatial position of the light unit in the image information relative to a defined reference point; ascertaining the relative angle between the first longitudinal axis of the towing vehicle and the second longitudinal axis of the vehicle, using the position information of the detected light unit; and emitting a signal as a function of the ascertained relative angle.

  • Publication number: 20200317202
Abstract: A method for ascertaining a liquid depth of a liquid accumulation on a travel path of a vehicle, in particular in front of a vehicle. The method comprises the following steps: reading in a current image of a vehicle-external region of the travel path, detected by an image detection device in particular of the vehicle, in which a detected liquid accumulation is present, and ascertaining the liquid depth of the liquid accumulation by comparing the current image with an image that is stored in a storage device and represents the vehicle-external region without a liquid accumulation.

  • Publication number: 20200033863
Abstract: A method, in particular for a vehicle control, for adapting an evaluable scanning area of sensors and for evaluating sensor data as a function of a driving situation, a hazardous situation being detected by evaluating the sensor data with the aid of at least one control unit, the control unit being switched, due to the detection of the hazardous situation, into a hazard mode which differs from a normal mode, a scanning area of the sensors being reduced and/or the sensor data utilized for an evaluation being limited in the hazard mode with the aid of the control unit, and, based on the limited scanning area and/or the limited sensor data utilized for the evaluation, a trajectory is recalculated or a response is triggered by the control unit in order to avoid the hazardous situation.
