  • Publication number: 20040036698
Abstract: Multiple Views of an Industrial Plant are graphically displayed and viewed. A graphical user interface displays the views in corresponding panes or windows of the graphical user interface. The views, being graphical representations of systems of the Industrial Plant, are coupled by a coupler according to a predetermined relationship between the underlying systems of the Industrial Plant represented by the coupled views. The coupler automatically refocuses the panes to display different views of the Industrial Plant based on a selection of an object in any of the panes or on a manual refocus of one view and on the predetermined relationship for coupling the views. The Coupled views represent different domains of the Industrial Plant or Industrial Network e.g.

  • Publication number: 20040039468
Abstract: The Industrial Framework universally integrates applications. An application domain model is mapped to the Industrial Framework unified model, containing external application data, functions and objects (having data and functions). The published data, functions and objects of the application domain model are accessed by any service and integrated application, thereby universally integrating applications to the Industrial Framework. Specific communication protocols used by different types of applications are mapped to generic Framework protocols, thereby allowing higher-level communication between any involved applications. A toolkit supports the development of Adapters that are created to universally integrate any of a predetermined type of application to an Industrial Framework. Within this toolkit, there is provided libraries having reusable starter source files for a new Adapter in which coding common to the Applications is previously provided.

  • Publication number: 20030009572
Abstract: Process data to a client is provided for process data to a client from a server in an Industrial Automation System. An incompletely determined and/or extensible request for process data from the client by the server is received. The structure and kind of process data to be sent to the client by a server application is determined. An XML type message of meta data being descriptive on structure and kind of the process data and the process data are generated. The XML type message is then sent to the client.

  • Patent number: 4915561
Abstract: A fastening element assembly is made up of a nail-like fastening element and a deformable sleeve displaceably secured on the fastening element shank. The assembly is used to secure sheet metal plates to a base material of variable strength. At its leading end the sleeve has an outwardly extending flange. When the assembly is driven into a receiving material or base, the sleeve is displaced in the rearward direction along the shank toward the trailing head on the fastening element. The shank widens conically toward the head. As the sleeve is displaced rearwardly, it is radially expanded. When the trailing end of the sleeve contacts the head, the sleeve collapses or is deformed in the axial direction in the manner of an accordian. Excess energy applied to the assembly during the driving step is converted into deformation work acting on the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4811883
Abstract: An explosive powder charge operated fastening element assembly setting device is used to drive a fastening element into a hard receiving material such as concrete, steel and the like. The device includes a striker piston transmitting driving force to the fastening element assembly. The forward end of the striker piston has a marking projection. If excessive driving energy is transmitted from the striker piston to the fastening element assembly, the marking projection forms an imprint in a guidance disk of the assembly. The extent of the imprint provides a gauge of the excessive driving force which results in unsatisfactory insertion of the fastening element. If an annularly-shaped marking projection is used, the imprint formed by it can be viewed from all sides of the fastening element.

  • Patent number: 4802802
Abstract: An attachment unit is made up of a nail and a sleeve fitted onto the nail. The nail has an axially elongated shank with a head at one end. The sleeve has a first axially extending section followed by a second axially extending section with the second section located closer to the head. A flange is located at the end of the first sleeve section spaced from the second sleeve section. An exterior thread with a root diameter is formed on the first sleeve section. The second sleeve section has a outside diameter smaller than the root diameter of the thread. When the nail is driven into a receiving material, its head runs into and laterally deforms the second sleeve section. After the nail is driven in, a nut can be placed over the second sleeve section and threaded onto the exterior thread.

  • Patent number: 4102238
Abstract: An anchoring assembly, in particular for use in a composite concrete and structural steel beam, consists of a cylindrical container shaped member open at one end and closed at the other with an opening extending through the closed end. A fastening stud is positioned in the bore in the member adjacent the open end and it is arranged to be driven through the bore into a receiving material, for instance, a structural steel member, by an explosive powder actuated setting gun. The fastening stud has an elongated shank with a larger diameter head at one end and a washer fitted on the shank and spaced axially from the head. The radially outer surfaces of the head and washer act as guide surfaces as the stud is driven through the bore into the receiving material. The opening through the closed end has an axially extending frusto-conically shaped section diverging toward and terminating in the outer surface of the closed end.

  • Patent number: 4067168
Abstract: In a composite beam, a connecting element interconnects a concrete slab and a downwardly depending structural steel member. The connecting element is L-shaped having an elongated base member which is secured by one or more fastening elements to the structural steel member and an elongated anchor strap extending angularly from the base member and incorporated into the concrete slab. Supporting webs are secured to and extend between the base member and the anchor strap. The part of the base member encircling the openings through which the fastening elements pass is deformed to provide rounded recesses. The anchor strap can be made more rigid by forming a corrugation-like recess extending in the elongated direction of the strap. When a force is applied to the anchor strap causing it to move angularly away from the base member, the support webs cause the adjacent surfaces of the base member to act as deformation zones relieving the force on the connection between the base member and the structural steel member.
