  • Patent number: 5082288
Abstract: A game comprising board apparatus and dice is taught for simulating the well known outdoor game of horseshoe pitching. To play the game each of two players drops two color-coded dice down a chute onto a board where indicia on the upper surface of each resting die indicates one of a set of possible results of a horseshoe pitch. Sometimes a dropped die will change the score indicated by an earlier dropped die, just as a later pitched horseshoe may change the scoring position of an earlier pitched horseshoe. Score keeping for the game follows the rules for horseshoes, save for the special requirement that an exact score is needed to win. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, several pegs and a sequence of numbered holes are provided adjacent the game board to aid in score keeping.

  • Patent number: 4971332
Abstract: An improved apparatus for a game, the apparatus generally comprising a game board having concentric ring paths which intersect with radial paths. The intersections represent spaces for the placement and movement of playing pieces. Each player is assigned a group of playing pieces. The playing pieces are identical in shape and are only distinguish by color wherein one player's playing pieces are of one color and the other player's playing pieces are of a different color. In addition, a sufficient number of neutral color playing pieces are also provided. To start play, all the playing pieces are placed in a grab bag. Beginning with any starting position concentric ring, players alternate, randomly drawing playing pieces from the grab bag. The first piece is placed at the starting position and the successively drawn pieces are placed one at a time around the concentric ring on successive spaces either clockwise or counter-clockwise from the starting position.

  • Patent number: 4915392
Abstract: The invention comprises new and unique apparatus for a game, the apparatus generally comprising a game board having concentric ring paths which intersect with radial paths. Each radial path is marked with a symbol and each concentric ring is marked with another symbol such that each playing position is identified by marking reference to the path symbol pieces are each marked with the same designation such that each playing piece corresponds to a playing position. To start play each player randomly takes out twenty pieces from a mixing bag. These pieces are then placed on the corresponding playing positions as designated by their marking reference. The players, in turn, then move their playing pieces towards the designated finishing spaces near the center of the board which have been removed from the playing area, and a means for mixing the playing pieces together.
