  • Patent number: 4257471
Abstract: A strip curtain door is adapted for positioning across a door opening having a header with a curtain rod spanning the opening at the top thereof. Hanger brackets support the rod and are secured to the header. A series of spaced opposed pairs of arcuate clips are loosely mounted upon the rod, each clip having a depending finger. A series of upright flat flexible strips of plastic material have their adjacent edges overlapped, extend across the opening over the height thereof with upper portions of each strip projected between a plurality of the pairs of clips. A fastener extends between the fingers of each pair of clips and through the strips whereby the fingers of the clips compressively engage and support the strips. In a modification, one finger of each pair of clips has a transverse dimple, with the other finger having an opposing transverse hole therethrough. Securing of the clips together forms a dimple in the strip which is projected into the finger hole for interlock therewith.

  • Patent number: 4169313
Abstract: The drum deheader or cutter is for use in opening an end of a drum provided with a drum chime and comprises a base engageable with the outside surface of the drum, with the base having at one end an upstanding lug engageable with the top of the drum chime and having at the other end a shoulder engageable with the underside of the drum chime. A head is pivotally mounted on the base and is provided with an integral handle which extends in a direction away from said base and the drum. A blade is secured to the head for cutting the end of the drum adjacent the drum chime. An elongated operating lever is pivotally mounted on one end to the base and is connected to the head by a suitable linkage. A person may grip the handle with one hand and apply a force to the lever with the other hand thereby causing the head to pivot and the blade to be lowered into cutting engagement with the end of the drum.

  • Patent number: 4166516
Abstract: A spring loaded, adjustable caster is disclosed which is used in combination with a rolling ladder. The adjustable caster comprises a wheel, a wheel mount for mounting the wheel, a longitudinal adjustable shank including a connecting rod having a threaded bore and a threaded shaft disposed in screwthreaded engagement with each other, whereby the length of the longitudinal adjustable shank may be varied. A jam nut is disposed in threadingly fitted engagement on the threaded shaft intermediate to the connecting rod and the wheel mount, whereby the jam nut may be rotated into a biasing relationship to the connecting rod. The caster further includes a sleeve adapted for sliding support of the connecting rod and with a spring disposed within the sleeve to provide a compressed relationship between the sleeve and the connecting rod. The sleeve is then mounted on a rolling ladder.
