    Abstract: A height adjuster adapted to remain latched during a side-on collision includes a guide rail having a U-shaped cross section, an adjusting part displaceable in the guide rail, an arresting mechanism for the adjusting part moveable in a longitudinal direction, a blocking part, for arresting the adjusting part and penetrating latch openings of the guide rail and an elastic member which biases the blocking part into the latch openings of the guide rail.
