  • Publication number: 20240400731
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a process for producing a unimodal ethylene/?-olefin copolymer, the process comprising contacting ethylene and one or more (C3-C12) ?-olefin comonomers with a chromium-based catalyst system in a gas-phase polymerization reactor to produce the unimodal ethylene/?-olefin copolymer; wherein the unimodal ethylene/?-olefin copolymer comprises: a density from 0.952 g/cm3 to 0.957 g/cm3; a flow index (I21) from 4.0 to 6.2 dg/min; a melt viscosity ratio (V0.1/V100) at 190° C. of 55 to 75; a molecular weight distribution (MWD) as calculated by the weight average molecular weight (Mw) divided by the number-average molecular weight (Mn) (Mw/Mn); and a peak molecular weight (Mp), all as measured by gel permeation chromatography.

  • Publication number: 20240376236
Abstract: A bimodal poly(ethylene-co-1-alkene) copolymer comprising a higher molecular weight poly(ethylene-co-1-alkene) copolymer component and a lower molecular weight poly(ethylene-co-1-alkene) copolymer component. The copolymer is characterized by a unique combination of features comprising, or reflected in, its component weight fraction amount, density, high load melt index, molecular weight distributions, viscoelastic properties, environmental stress-cracking resistance, and impact strength. Additional inventive embodiments include a method of making the copolymer, a formulation comprising the copolymer and at least one additive that is different than the copolymer, a method of making a manufactured article from the copolymer or formulation; the manufactured article made thereby, and use of the manufactured article.

  • Publication number: 20230235104
Abstract: Embodiments of polyethylene compositions and articles comprising polyethylene compositions are disclosed. The polyethylene compositions may include a first polyethylene fraction area defined by an area in the elution profile in a temperature range of 70° C. to 97° C. via improved comonomer composition distribution (iCCD) analysis method; a first peak in the temperature range of 70° C. to 97° C. in the elution profile; a second polyethylene fraction area defined by an area in the elution profile in a temperature range of 97° C. to 110° C.; and a second peak in the temperature range of 97° C. to 110° C. The polyethylene composition may have a density of 0.935 g/cm3 to 0.955 g/cm3 and a melt index (I2) of 1.0 g/10 minutes to 10.0 g/10 minutes. A ratio of the first polyethylene fraction area to the second polyethylene fraction area may be less than 2.0.

  • Publication number: 20210252774
Abstract: A method of fused filament fabrication (FFF) additive manufacturing comprises employing an olefin block copolymer. The method allows for the additive manufacturing article that retains the desirable mechanical properties of polyolefins such as polyethylene or polypropylene without experiencing the problems inherent in FFF printing of polyethylene or polypropylene particularly in the absence of solid fillers. In a particular embodiment, the additive manufactured article is comprised of the olefin block copolymer is comprised of block composite or crystalline block composite polymer or mixture thereof comprising the olefin block copolymer, wherein the olefin block copolymer is comprised of an isotactic propylene block and a polyethylene rich block.
