  • Publication number: 20200212997
Abstract: An apparatus and system for supplying power to different devices at different levels. The apparatus includes an input port for receiving power from an external source. A first converter is provided for converting the input power to a first DC voltage, and a second converter for converting the input power to a second DC voltage. Ethernet ports are provided for supplying, at least in part, the first DC voltage to a first type of device. MoCA ports are provided for supplying, at least in part, the second DC voltage to a second type of device.

  • Publication number: 20200205207
Abstract: A system includes a router including a processor and a memory. The memory stores instructions executable by the processor to receive a wireless request from a first computing device to initiate a connection mode for a wireless network. The instructions are further executable to join a second computing device to the wireless network under the connection mode. wherein the connection mode allows the second device to join the wireless network without input of a password stored prior to the wireless request.

  • Patent number: 10172094
Abstract: An apparatus, system and method for monitoring power to a communication device and switching operation modes. The system is monitored in order to detect a power interruption to the communication device. A first signal is supplied to the communication device to indicate the occurrence of a power interruption and/or activation of a backup power supply. The communication device is then switched to a low power mode which limits one or more operating functions.

  • Publication number: 20180324634
Abstract: A satellite user terminal gateway which performs transmission control protocol acceleration to enhance communication speed between a satellite user terminal and a satellite communication network. The satellite user terminal gateway includes a transceiver configured to communicate with a satellite communication network to receive data packets from the satellite communication network, and a controller configured to control the transceiver. The satellite user terminal gateway further includes a processor configured to identify transmission control protocol data packets among the received data packets to mirror the transmission control protocol data packets to the controller while routing the received data packets through the satellite user terminal gateway.

  • Patent number: 9888106
Abstract: A satellite communication system, a method and a system are provided. In one aspect of the invention, an outdoor unit power source is connected to a switch of a satellite modem of an indoor unit. When the satellite modem receives a first signal from a wireless device, a first switch control signal is sent to the switch to open a connection between the outdoor unit power source and an inter-facility link connected to an antenna of an outdoor unit, thereby preventing power from flowing through the inter-facility link. When the satellite modem receives a second signal from the wireless device, a second switch control signal is sent to the switch to close a connection between the outdoor unit power source and the inter-facility link, thereby causing the power to flow through the inter-facility link. Other wirelessly received signals may cause various control signals to be sent via the inter-facility link.

  • Publication number: 20170300967
Abstract: A communication network, such as a satellite-based communication network, comprises a gateway transceiver that communicates with a plurality of remote locations via the communication network, and a gateway controller which operates to generate website content data based on website data for a website and link accessible data at the website. The gateway controller further operates to control the gateway transceiver to transmit the website content data to the plurality of remote locations via a broadcast communication. Thus, bandwidth usage to provide the website content data to multiple remote locations is reduced. Also, the network terminals at the remote locations make the transmitted website content data available locally without the need to establish a communication link with the gateway transceiver, thus reducing latency in providing the content.

  • Patent number: 9515860
Abstract: Systems and methods provide a receiver design capable of both wideband (high symbol rate) and narrowband (low symbol rate) operations requirements without compromising narrowband performance. Moreover, such a receiver design can be very low cost, and eschewing the need for any expensive and/or specialized elements. A receiver configured in accordance with various embodiments utilizes a fully integrated tuner in which narrowband filters are configured to be bypassable when in wideband (high symbol rate) mode in favor of fixed wideband filters. Additionally, an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) can be implemented with digital gain for wideband operation, as well as digital data bit mapping to accommodate industry standard application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) interfaces, such as from a 12 bit ADC core to an 8 bit digital interface.
