Abstract: A paperboard carton is disclosed that has a base with first and second top panels. The first top panel incorporates a pair of spaced slots and secondary end panels hingedly connected to opposite side edges. The secondary end panels are folded against and adhesively secured to the first top panel. The second top panel is folded over and adhered to the secondary end panels to provide reinforcement for the top while enabling access to a handle formed in the first top panel.

Abstract: Cette invention concerne un emballage en carton formé à partir d'une ébauche (19). L'ebauche comporte un premier et un deuxiéme panneaux supérieurs (15, 16). Le premier panneau supérieur (15) prèsente des rainures en guise de poignée (21) et aussi des panneaux supérieurs secondaires (22) connectés de manière articulée à des bordures extrêmes opposées. Les panneaux supérieurs secondaires (22) sont pliés contre et assujettis par voie d'adhésion à la partie supérieure du premier panneau supérieur (15). Le deuxième panneau supérieur (16), une foie l'emballage en carton plié, est ensuite assujetti par voie d' adhésion à la partie supérieure des panneaux supérieurs secondaires (22) en formant un panneau de dessus renforcé utilisant des surfaces en carton qui seraient gaspillées autrement.

In further detail, the paperboard carton has a base panel, a top panel, two oppositely disposed side panels and two oppositely disposed end walls, each end wall comprising a portion of multiple thickness in which portion there is a handle opening.

Abstract: There is provided a basket type carrier device for a plurality of articles which comprises a lengthwise extending central wall 51, articles receiving compartments disposed on both sides of the central wall 51, and a handle portion 70. Each receiving compartment is defined by a base wall 63, a side wall 61, 62 which is substantially parallel to the central wall 51, and a pair of end walls 58, 65 and 59, 66 which extend between and are hingedly connected to the side 61, 62 and the central wall 51. The adjacent pairs of end walls 58, 65 and 59, 66 are secured together so that said adjacent end walls are coplanar and are unable to hinge relative to each other.

Abstract: There is provided a paperboard device made from a blank (10) having two base panels (15, 16) for connection together, two side walls (20, 21), two top panels (22, 23), and two handle panels (24, 25) which are hingedly connected together by a fold (26). The top panels (22, 23) have apertures (28) for receiving necks of bottles to be retained by the device. The top panels also have flap sections (34), one of which has a tab (35) which, in use, extends through one of the apertures (28) in the other top panel (23) and is bent up and retained there by the neck of the bottle in that aperture.

Abstract: A locking paperboard sleeve (11) for retaining at least a pair of spaced articles (12) is disclosed. The sleeve has a top panel (14), opposed side panels (15, 16) hingedly connected to the top panel, and first and second base panels (21, 22) constructed and arranged to interlock with one another and being hingedly fastened to one each of the respective side panels. A keel panel (37) is hingedly connected to the second base panel, and is constructed and arranged to be moved out of a common plane of the base panels, when locked together, and to be received between the at least two articles as a locking panel (26) hingedly connected to the first base panel is moved into locking engagement with the second base panel. The keel panel is retained in position between the at least two articles by a hook portion (34) extending from the locking panel which engages a notch (40) defined in the keel panel.

Abstract: A paperboard carrier device for holding a plurality of article containers, each article container having an annular rim formed along an upper peripheral edge extending perpendicularly with respect to an article container sidewall, is disclosed. The carrier device includes a top panel (11) having a plurality of spaced article engaging apertures (12) defined therein and extending therethrough. Each aperture is dimensioned to be less than the rim diameter of the article containers, and has a continuous marginal portion (31) sized and shaped to elastically deform as it is passed over the annular rim of one of the article containers and is received on the sidewall of the article container and engaged in a snap fit beneath the annular rim thereof.

Abstract: There is provided a basket type container 11 having a handle portion 12 for carrying a plurality of bottles 14. The container 11 has side walls 18 and end panels 24, 25. There are also retention panels 15 extending between the side walls 18 and the handle portion 12 for holding the bottles in the container 11 and preventing removal. Lines of weakening may be provided to disable the retention panels 15 and allow access to the bottles 14.

Abstract: There is provided an interlocking arrangement for coupling two pieces 10, 11 of paperboard. Projecting portions 17 on one piece 10 and openings on the other piece 11 engage as the pieces are urged together. Parallel sided flaps 20 hinged to said one piece 10 and tongues 24 on said other piece 11 are provided on the pieces with said tongues 24 being pushed past the flaps 20 when the pieces are moved together. The free ends of the tongues 24 are bent back slightly and the flaps 20 engage below the bent back ends.

Abstract: A carton accommodating a plurality of articles, such as bottles (B) comprises a top (14, 16, 18, 20) a base and a pair of side walls (12, 22) interconnecting the top and the base thereby forming a tubular structure has a carrying handle (H) extending upwardly from the top and locking tabs (50, 52, 54) which tie together facing panels (16, 18) at lower portions of said carrying handle to maintain the carrying handle in an upstanding position for use.
