  • Patent number: 4794776
Abstract: A continuous rolling mill for producing seamless tubes, operating on the restrained mandrel principle, has a stand-less structure which includes a load-bearing box-type framework wherein there are formed seats for accommodating working rolls and their chocks. The structure has reduced bulk in the axial direction and weight.

Inventors: Cesare Galletti, Emanuele Gancia, Giorgio Quecchia
  • Patent number: 4719785
Abstract: A method is disclosed wherein, to guide a billet into a pressure-piercing mill, the same pusher is utilized as is normally provided to force the billet through the nip of the mill rolls.

  • Patent number: 4478065
Abstract: A continuous rolling mill with crossed alternately inclined stands is described in which the working rolls and their roll chocks forming each stand are united to form a unit which can be displaced individually in a direction parallel to the axes of rotation of the said rolls. During changing of the rolls, a thrust member expels the said unit from the stand, in a direction parallel to the axes of rotation of the rolls, onto a load-carrying platform which can be tipped about an axis parallel to the rolling direction to a horizontal position on a carriage which is movable on rails along the sides of the rolling mill.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 10, 1982
Date of Patent: October 23, 1984
    Assignee: Innse Innocenti Santeustacchio S.p.A.
    Inventors: Emanuele Gancia, Cesare Galletti
  • Patent number: 4285226
Abstract: The mandrel-holder for a pilger rolling mill comprises a head with a seat for a tang end of a mandrel and a body coupled to an actuator for the mandrel-holder. A lever is pivoted on the body of said mandrel-holder and has a main portion extending in a recess formed in said body and opening on the said seat, means being provided in order to move the lever from an operative position in which its main portion is in said seat to an inoperative position in which its main portion is retracted into said recess against spring means.
