    Abstract: In a computer system having a password registering function, when a floppy disk drive is connected to the system in registration of a password, the same password as that registered in the system is stored in a predetermined sector of a key floppy disk set in the floppy disk drive. In cancellation of a registered password, the key floppy disk is set in the floppy disk drive, and the password is read out from the predetermined sector of the key floppy disk. If the read out password coincides with the password registered in the system, both the password registered in the system and the password stored in the key floppy disk are erased.
