  • Patent number: 4843148
Abstract: A process for the preparation of reactive dyes of the formula ##STR1## in which D, R and Z are as defined in greater detail in the description, which comprises subjecting 2,4,6-trifluoro-s-triazine to a condensation reaction in a strongly acid solution and in the presence of an alkali metal fluoride with an amine of the formulaH--Z (3)and then subjecting the primary condensation product obtained to a condensation reaction with an amino dye of the formula ##STR2## affords reactive dyes of the formula (1) in a high yield and a high state of purity.

    Inventors: Emil Bonometti, Herbert Seiler
  • Patent number: 4189570
Abstract: Process for producing compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, and n is 1 or 2, which process comprises condensing aminohydroxynaphthalenesulphonic acids of the formula ##STR2## with 2,4,6-trifluoro-s-triazine, in an aqueous solution or suspension, within a pH range which is defined bypK.sub.N(R)H .ltoreq.pH.ltoreq.(pK.sub.OH -2)wherein pK.sub.N(R)H and pK.sub.OH are the pK values respectively of the amino group and hydroxyl group of the aminohydroxynaphthalenesulphonic acid and pH is the hydrogen exponent, to give compounds of the formula (1).
    Type: Grant

    Assignee: Ciba-Geigy Corporation
    Inventors: Emil Bonometti, Herbert Seiler
  • Patent number: 3941765
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the manufacture of 1:2 chromium complexes of metallisable azo dyes, wherein the azo dyes are treated in aqueous solution at pH 7 to 9 with at least the stoichiometric amount of a chromium complex, and, in the course of the chroming, the reaction medium is acidified once or repeatedly to a pH of 6 or less and subsequently brought back again to pH 7 to 9.

Date of Patent: March 2, 1976
    Assignee: Ciba-Geigy AG
    Inventors: Christian Wittwer, Emil Bonometti
