    Abstract: In practical application, it often happens that a large number of motion sensors and control mechanisms is required in order to carry out controlled movements, e.g., of welding tongs. The object of the present invention is to provide a solution for controlling the movement of a pair of welding tongs in the most efficient and economical manner possible with a minimum of electrical and mechanical expenditure. This object is attained by the present invention by using mechanical displacement-limiting means that limit a swiveling motion if it should occur. The advantage is the robust design and elimination of electronics and sensor systems, which are susceptible to interference.
