  • Patent number: 5100522
Abstract: In a process for the manufacture of a metal foil, the metal foil is deposited electrolytically on an endless carrier belt, preferably an endless metal belt, in one or more cells, the current density being set to different levels in the plurality of cells and/or within each individual cell. A post treatment of the meal foil manufactured takes place wholly or at least in part on the endless carrier belt, thereby metal foils, respectively metal composite foils can be manufactured at favorable cost and with low labor input.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 3, 1991
Date of Patent: March 31, 1992
    Assignee: Maschinonfabrik Andritz Actiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Emil Hula, Gerald Maresch

  • Patent number: 4986291
Abstract: Apparatus for the surface treatment of strips with liquid, in particular for the pickling of rolled metal strip. The apparatus comprises a pickling vessel (3), through which the strip (10) is advanced, closed by a cover (4). Between the strip (10) and the cover (4) a means is provided which if the strip rises upwards, guides the latter back into the direction of movement. This means can be formed of profiles providing a sawtooth-like configuration. Such profiles may be formed by guide means (11) which are chamfered on the side from which the strip enters.
