  • Patent number: 11788507
Abstract: A vertical axis windmill system for interacting with ground level winds has a plurality of vertical windmill units. Each vertical windmill unit includes a rotation unit and outer rings. The rings are secured to the vertical support columns. The rotation unit has a plurality of blades equally spaced around a rotatable center shaft. Each blade has a plate extending from the central shaft to an outer end. The plate has a curvature from an upper edge to the lower edge. Each of the blades has a plurality of openings. A plurality of flaps are pivotably mounted to the blade to move from an open position allowing air through the plurality of openings to a closed position limiting air through the plurality of openings. The system has a generator for converting the rotation motion of the rotatable central shaft to electrical energy.

  • Publication number: 20190056128
Abstract: A climate control system adapted for a room having a ceiling has a central unit mounted to the ceiling. The central unit has a rotary portion. A plurality of fan blades is carried by the rotary portion. The fan blades are adapted to direct air within the room by rotating clockwise and counter-clockwise. The fan blades have heating elements for producing heated air. The fan blades rotate to push heat downward away from the ceiling. The system has at least one nozzle carried by the central unit for generating mist from the water. The system has at least one sensor for controlling the system. Additional elements can include air purification, air conditioning, and dehumidification. A conduit extends from a central unit to a wall for routing air ducts, a water pipe, a drain tube for draining water, and power.

  • Patent number: 7975962
Abstract: A passenger accommodation assembly for a transportation vehicle, comprising a plurality of accommodation units placed along an aisle with each accommodation unit being convertible between an upright seat position and a reclined position. A first accommodation unit of the assembly is elevated relative to a second unit whereby the legs of a passenger reclining in the second unit can extend under a seat portion of the first unit and the backrest of the passenger in the first unit can extend over the legs of the passenger in the second unit. Other embodiments of the invention comprise multiple accommodation units and combinations of accommodation unit assemblies.

  • Publication number: 20090289896
Abstract: A new form of input arrangement for cursor control devices or other handheld electronic devices in which the activation surfaces are designed to allow the fingers and thumb of the user to affect commands by means of ergonomic and less repetitive motion as compared to current devices. In embodiments, sensors are associated with the user's digits which sense motion in not only the downward direction, but in multiple directions. In embodiments, the cursor control device has resilient pads to further add comfort to a user. The resulting ability of the user to vary and reduce the points of pressure and other stresses onto different surfaces of the digits and corresponding nerves and muscles serves to reduce discomfort and pain resulting from current devices.

  • Publication number: 20090038180
Abstract: A dynamic cushioning assembly to be used on beds, seats, backrests, shoes or any other surfaces where a portion of a body is subjected to prolonged contact and pressure with a support surface. The arrangement is comprised of a pattern of spherical elastic lugs cooperating with an upper, elastomeric layer. When a force is applied to the upper layer, the cooperation of the lugs with the upper layer create an uneven but soft surface having undulating zone of higher and lower resistance which serve to enhance blood circulation.

  • Publication number: 20070247424
Abstract: A new form of input arrangement for cursor control devices or other handheld electronic devices in which the activation surfaces are designed to allow the fingers and thumb of the user to effect commands by means of non-repetitive motion as compared to current devices. Specifically, sensors are associated with the fingers and thumb which sense motion in not only the downward direction, as generally used in current devices, but also in forward backward and side directions to carry out a command. The resulting ability of the user to vary the points of pressure and other stresses onto different surfaces of the digits and corresponding nerves and muscles serves to relieve discomfort and pain resulting from current devices. A keyboard on the rear wall of a handheld electronic alleviates the overuse and damage to the thumbs and associated nerves and muscles attendant to current methods and apparatus for data entry.

  • Patent number: 7077360
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a passenger accommodation arrangement for aircraft which provides both a highly efficient use of available aircraft space and a high level of comfort for passengers. In particular, the novel arrangement allows passengers to easily and comfortably switch between sitting and sleeping positions. The arrangement provides for multiple compartments arranged transversely with respect to the longitudinal dimension of the aircraft. Each compartment includes a stair and multiple, individual passenger accommodation units arranged one above another on each side of the stair. Each unit contains structure which allows a passenger to switch between a sitting position, in which the passenger is supported on a seat surface, and a fully reposed position in which the passenger is supported on a substantially flat, horizontal sleeping surface.
