  • Patent number: 4508214
Abstract: For simple and rapid tightening of one or more presser belts of a continuous sheet feeder two support-levers are connected to a swivelling shaft next to the feeder frame, at the free ends of which the tension roller is pivoted. Furthermore, a tension lever is connected to the swivelling shaft. A holding member is slidably mounted on the swivelling shaft and can be fixed in any set position. One end of a spring engages the holding member and the other end is pivoted on the feeder.

  • Patent number: 4388073
Abstract: A device for pivoting the knife in its longitudinal axis and for adjusting the knife depth on knife folding machines having a coupling and brake unit disposed between drive motor and knife drive, for the upwards and downwards movement of the knife bar guided in a housing pivotable in the direction of rotation of the drive, characterized in that in the course of the driving axis there is between drive motor and the coupling-brake unit mounted on the housing an elastically deformable rotary joint and in that a substantially vertically extending guide plate is arranged to be rigid with the machine frame and in that for pivoting the knife there is at the bottom end of the housing a stay bolt, the space-forming length of which is adjustable between housing and guide plate, whereby there is in the upper part of the housing on the guide plate side and parallel with the drive axis, a horizontal pivot arbor which serves as a pivoting axis and in that to adjust the knife depth a substantially vertically disposed setscr

  • Patent number: 4245832
Abstract: An apparatus for the stacking of sheets, with a stacking band conveyor, which for both-sided action on a series of scalelike staggered sheets has conveyor belts with conveying surfaces facing each other defining a conveying track therebetween, the latter beginning at its entrance having at least one bend about an axis parallel to the axes of rotation of the conveyor belts and having an exit directed substantially downwardly from above, with a substantially horizontal support on which the exit of the stacking band conveyor is directed and on which the scalelike staggered sheets are pushed together in the staggering succession into a stack with sheets standing substantially vertically on their edges, and with a feeder which feeds the sheets to the entrance of the stacking band conveyor. The bend at the entrance of the stacking band conveyor is convex viewed from above, so that the lagging edge of each sheet fed from the feeder to the entrance to the stacking band conveyor lifts from the feeder.

  • Patent number: 4204667
Abstract: A semi-circular stack sheet feeding apparatus for supplying an imbricated stack of sheets to a sheet folding machine or the like is disclosed. The sheet feeding device has a delivery and diverting device for transporting the imbricated stack of sheets in a first delivery direction along the underside of a diverting drum, about a portion of the periphery of the drum and, in a second delivery direction, to a sheet removal platform. A removal device associated with the removal platform removes the uppermost sheet from the platform in a direction opposite the second delivery direction. A stop is provided on the removal platform against which the leading edges of the sheets strike and a stack height sensor is provided for sensing the number of sheets stacked on the removal platform. So long as the number of sheets in the stack is below a predetermined value, the stack height sensor maintains the drive of the delivery and diverting device engaged.

  • Patent number: 4200277
Abstract: A flat pile - automatic sheet feeder for lifting sheets from a flat pile and feeding them further with a sheet separator which has at least one suction head at least one sensor and a shaft, which during the rotation moves and returns the suction head from a rest position which is lifted off the pile into a suction position lying on the flat pile and moves and returns the sensor from a sensing position lying on the flat pile into a release position swung out of the way from the flat pile, and with a removal device pulling-off the sheet which is lifted by the suction member.

  • Patent number: 4175740
Abstract: The invention contemplates an improved folding machine for providing different types of folds. The machine includes a folding knife mechanism which is rotatably mounted in the machine frame about an axis of rotation which lies in the plane of the sheet to be folded so that at a first position the knife operates upwardly and at a second position the knife operates downwardly. These different directions of operation will produce different types of folds without the need of different folding mechanisms for each type of folds.

  • Patent number: 4026550
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a circular sheet feeding apparatus with a lower loading tray which can be used for loading uneven stacks of sheets, and with a loading and reversing mechanism which carries the uneven stack of sheets in an initial direction underneath a reversing drum, and then around the drum with the help of the drum itself, and into a pick-up tray moving in a second direction. This apparatus is also equipped with an extractor for the removal of the top sheet on the pick-up tray which conveys the sheet in a direction opposite to said second direction.

  • Patent number: 3958799
Abstract: A buckle folding machine with several folding rollers forming pairs, which with respect to their spacing are adjustably disposed relative to each other and are coupled with a common drive device, which has each one drive wheel for every folding roller, characterized in the manner that the drive wheel of every folding roller is mounted stationary and that all adjustable folding rollers, respectively, are coupled with the coordinated drive wheel over each one equalization coupling, the two hubs of which are connected each other over driving surfaces by an intermediate member which is moveable in a first direction radially relative to the one hub and in a second radial direction extending perpendicular thereto relative to the other hub.
