  • Patent number: 11075588
Abstract: An inverter system is provided that includes switches that alternate between closed and open states to conduct or block conduction, respectively, of electric current through the switches and switch controllers that control operation of the switches between the closed and open states. In a first operating mode, the controllers control operation of the switches to convert direct current into a single, common phase of an alternating current from a same phase output from each of the switches to power a higher-demand load of a powered system with the single phase of the alternating current. In a second operating mode, the controllers control operation of the switches to convert the direct current into multiple, different phases of the alternating current to power a lower-demand load of the powered system with the multiple, different phases of the alternating current. Each of the switches outputs a different phase of the multiple phases.

  • Patent number: 9379542
Abstract: A system for controlling multiple inverter-driven loads includes a controller that is configured to be coupled with an inverter that receives direct current and converts the direct current into an alternating current in order to supply the alternating current to plural loads that are connected to the inverter by plural respective contactors. The controller also is configured to control operations of the inverter and of the contactors in order to individually control which of the loads remain connected to and powered by the inverter and which of the loads are disconnected from the inverter.

  • Patent number: 8405250
Abstract: There is provided a system and method for controlling an electronic device. An exemplary method comprises employing a look-up table to derive waveform value data for a multi-phase reference waveform. The exemplary method also comprises employing the look-up table to derive waveform value data corresponding to harmonic data for the multi-phase reference waveform. Harmonic data is injected into the multi-phase reference waveform to produce a harmonic reference waveform. The exemplary method additionally comprises generating a plurality of control signals from the harmonic reference waveform.

  • Patent number: 8400016
Abstract: There is provided a system and method of operating a plurality of inverters that provide power via a plurality of switches. An exemplary method includes determining an inverter firing pattern corresponding to one of a plurality of regions of an inverter firing cycle, the inverter firing pattern defining whether each of the plurality of switches are held either on or off. The exemplary method also includes producing control signals for the plurality of switches based on the firing pattern. The control signals may be applied to the plurality of inverters for powering one or more electronic devices.

  • Publication number: 20110080193
Abstract: An exemplary control method includes a step of employing a look-up table to derive first waveform value data for a multi-phase reference waveform. The exemplary method also includes a step of deriving second waveform value data corresponding to modifier data for the multi-phase reference waveform. The modifier data is added into the reference waveform to produce a modified reference waveform. The exemplary method additionally includes a step of generating a plurality of control signals from the modified reference waveform and controlling one or more electronic devices based on the control signals.

  • Patent number: 7919882
Abstract: A system for controlling a plurality of generators of a powered system, the system includes a controller configured to provide a command to energize at least a first generator and a second generator depending on an operational condition of the powered system, a switching device configured to connect the first generator and/or the second generator to the controller, and a rectifier connected between the controller and the switching device. The switch position of the switching device determines whether the first generator and/or the second generator is energized, depending on the operational condition of the powered system. A method and a computer software code for controlling a plurality of generators of a powered system are also provided.
