  • Patent number: 7478770
Abstract: The present invention relates to a mechanical process for granulating and cold manufacturing of spherical particles of aluminum and transformation of turnings, chips “UBC” utility beverage cans and aluminum cans into finished products intended for the use into aluminothermy, remelt or foundry. The new process of granulation requires a first equipment for pressing, followed by an equipment for shredding, followed by a granulating equipment for the realization of transformation of raw product into granular spherical finished product. Use of presses, choppers, granulators, separators, cyclones integrated in the process, allows to sort and decontaminate by-products, with possible recycling for later use, among which the recasting, aluminothermy and the recovery of many substances entering in the manufacture of a multitude of products used in industry.

  • Patent number: 7441716
Abstract: A closed circuit, dry processing system for processing aluminum containing products and producing reusable particles of aluminum, and a process thereof. The aluminum containing products are crushed into chips which are then separated into iron-based and ironless chips. The ironless chips are further crushed into chip fragments which are controllably supplied into a granulation chamber where the chip fragments are granulated into spheroidal particles of aluminum and other particles of organic and carbonic materials. A controlled upward airflow produced in the granulation chamber draws those of the particles exceeding a desired granulation degree out of the granulation chamber. The particles are classified as a function of their sizes and then separated as a function of their weight so that the spheroidal particles of aluminum forming the reusable particles of aluminum and residues formed by the other particles are released separately.

  • Patent number: 4969774
Abstract: Oil is removed from the surface of water by contacting the oil with a non-toxic, biodegradable oil-absorbing material selected from the group consisting of pre-cooked and puffed cereals, in an amount sufficient to cause agglomeration of the oil-loaded material and formation of a buoyant semi-solid mass, and removing the buoyant semi-solid mass from the surface of the water. The method according to the invention is particularly useful for collecting and removing oil accidently discharged into open waters by oil tanker ships and enables substantially total recovery of the oil spills.
