  • Patent number: 4322094
Abstract: A weighting device is suspended beneath a tractor and between its wheels to improve the traction of the wheels and the stability of the tractor. The device has the general form of a flat, elongated element with a width substantially less than the spacing between the wheels of the tractor and which extends from at least the rear of the tractor to a point beyond the front of the tractor in order to carry weights which are utilized to prevent the tractor from rearing or lifting. The weight is suspended on the tractor by elements which include flaps, sliding shoulders integral with the tractor, sliding wing flanges and jacks. The jacks may be controlled by fluid distributors for driving the device, and therefore the weights, both longitudinally and transversely along a plane substantially parallel to the ground or other support surface.

  • Patent number: 4298047
Abstract: Apparatus is provided for use with a tractor or like vehicle. The apparatus is adapted to liquid ballast and inflate a tube within a wheel of the vehicle. The apparatus comprises inflation means which include a pump adapted to pressurize air or liquid to the inflation pressure of the tube. A reservoir is provided which is adapted to be filled with ballast. The apparatus includes a nozzle adapted to fit within the tube. The nozzle is adapted to be positioned to purge up to 100% of the fluid within the tube at ambient pressures. The apparatus also includes piping means connecting the pump to the nozzle, and the pump to the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 4174012
Abstract: A self-propelled unit comprises a work facilitating implement coupled to a high-clearance chassis vehicle, the implement being provided with a support for supporting it on longitudinally and horizontally extending flanges fixed on the chassis. The vehicle is relatively movable between the support of the vehicle and the implement to allow disengagement of the latter from the vehicle by longitudinal movement of the vehicle relative to the implement when the latter is supported on the ground, the relative movement being effected independently of the implement support and providing for support of the chassis on the ground.
