Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for predicting the survival time of a patient suffering from a solid cancer comprising i) determining in a tissue sample obtained from the patient the gene expression level of FcRn ii) comparing expression level determined at step i) with their predetermined reference value and iii) providing a good prognosis when expression level determined at step i) is higher than their predetermined reference value, or providing a bad prognosis when expression levels determined at step i) are lower than their predetermined reference values.

Abstract: The present invention relates to agent selected from the group consisting of an anti-S100B antibody, an anti-S100B aptamer or an inhibitor of S100B gene expression for use in a method for reducing airway hyperresponse in a subject in need thereof. The present invention also relates to a method for determining whether a subject is at risk of having or developing an airway hyperresonse comprising determining the level of S100B protein in a biological sample obtained from said subject.
