To this end, a computer device obtains (31, 32) a set of loading cases and eigenmodes of the machine, determines (33) a significant subset, obtains (34) a set of relevant nodes and calculates (35) a set of frequency response functions restricted to the relevant nodes, obtains (36, 37) a set of operating points and magnetic states of the machine, determines (38) a set of operational loads of the machine, then determines (39) a level of noise and electromagnetic vibrations on the basis of the frequency response functions and the operational loads.
