  • Publication number: 20190352544
Abstract: Adhesive articles are provided that can be repositioned (moved) prior to final adherence to a substrate. More specifically, the adhesive articles include a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer that contains an elastomeric (meth)acrylic-based polymeric material plus crystalline material that includes a fatty amide compound on the outer surface. The presence of the crystalline material does not adversely affect the final peel adhesion of the pressure-sensitive adhesive but allows the adhesive article to be moved or repositioned, if necessary, by lowering the tackiness of the surface.

  • Patent number: 9505028
Abstract: The present disclosure describes a protective coating for a low index material, and a process for preparing a protected low index material. The protective coating partially penetrates the pores of a low index material, providing a seal protecting the pores, and can strengthen the construction by forming a gradient in properties of the protected low index material. The present disclosure further provides a diffusing low index optical element having a protected low index material and a diffusing layer disposed on the low index material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 19, 2013
Date of Patent: November 29, 2016
    Assignee: 3M INNOVATIVE PROPERTIES COMPANY
Inventors: Michael L. Steiner, William D. Coggio, Thomas J. Ludemann, Emilie L. Rexeisen, William R. Dudley, Steven J. McMan, Michael L. Ruegsegger
  • Patent number: 9290682
Abstract: Disclosed is an adhesive composition comprising a low Tg (meth)acrylate copolymer component, a high Tg (meth)acrylate copolymer component, and a hydrogenated hydrocarbon tackifier. This disclosure provides a pressure-sensitive adhesive and pressure-sensitive adhesive articles that are particularly useful in the bonding of low surface energy (LSE) substrates.
    Type: Grant
