    Abstract: Improvements in a thermal printing ribbon (3) feed cassette (1) make it possible to increase the unwinding speed of the ribbon (3), accelerate the printing frequency, while guaranteeing the printing reliability. A magnetically actuated compensator system (30) is preferably coupled with a braking system on the driven axis (12); in addition, the motor is coupled with a traction roller (18) which drives the winding cylinder (14), each of these two components being preferably equipped with a locking system. The improvements may be made to existing cassettes.
