  • Patent number: 6016736
Abstract: Revolver firearm comprising a body divided in an upper part, or slider, comprising a barrel and a drum, slidingly associated with a lower part, or case, comprising a handle, a trigger and a hammer; a first kinematic chain arranged in said case for arming the hammer; a second kinematic chain, arranged in said slider, and adapted to cause the rotation of the drum and to successively align the firing chambers of the drum with the barrel, the first and second kinematic chains being selectively activated by manually operating the hammer directly or the trigger or using the forces generated by the recoil; a third kinematic chain for connecting the first and second chains; the third kinematic chain has a desmodromic member having an active transfer action synchronously transferring motion from the first chain to the second chain during the firing action and a resistance passive action during the automatic re-cocking of the firearm caused by the recoil forces.

  • Patent number: 5425300
Abstract: A firearm has a frame, a magazine fitted in the frame and holding a plurality of cartridges including a top cartridge, a slide displaceable longitudinally on the frame above the magazine and its top cartridge along a longitudinal slide axis between a front position and a rear position, and a barrel centered on a barrel axis, displaceable longitudinally on the frame between respective front and rear positions, and having a rear end formed with a rearwardly open cartridge-receiving firing chamber. Pivot structure engaged between the barrel and the frame pivots the barrel on the frame between a firing position with the barrel axis substantially parallel to the slide axis and with the firing chamber transversely offset above the top cartridge and a loading position with the barrel axis forming an acute angle with the slide axis and with the firing chamber aligned longitudinally with and open downwardly toward the top cartridge.

  • Patent number: 4899478
Abstract: A debased barrel revolver is disclosed which comprises a stock having a rear mount, a cylinder carried rotatably on said stock close against the rear mount, a barrel mounted on the stock in alignment relationship with a bottom cartridge chamber of the cylinder, and a release and percussion mechanism, and wherein at least some of the components of the release and percussion mechanism are supported in a chamber formed in the rear mount and extending therein perpendicularly to and above the barrel. By virtue of the reduced extent in the longitudinal direction of the release and percussion mechanism, substantially all of the elastic potential energy stored up therein can be utilized on striking.

  • Patent number: 4712466
Abstract: A revolving cylinder pistol comprising a mount containing the firing mechanism and a slide carrying the barrel and cylinder. The slide is guided movably on the frame between two mechanical stops. Each recoil stroke of the slide automatically energizes a spring motor carried in the slide itself which is effective to cause the cylinder to revolve in timed relationship with the pistol cocking. The mount supports a pusher which can energize said spring motor on request and is operated by the reload mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4651456
Abstract: A revolver has a lowered firing line by alignment of the barrel with the lowermost chamber of the cylinder. The latter is swingably mounted on a frame at a location above the cylinder and cooperates with a firing mechanism in a compartment of the stock above the grip.

  • Patent number: 4468876
Abstract: Disclosed is a revolver with a cylinder having an elevated number (e.g. 12) of cartridge chambers, this cylinder being held in a frame formed in part by a pivotable yoke on which the cylinder can be swung out laterally for reloading. The remainder of the frame is integral with a trigger guard which is located behind the cylinder and, along with other structural elements, is bracketed by a sheet-metal jacket of inverted-U shape forming the body of the firearm. A pistol grip attached to that body contains a compression spring which is coupled to the hammer of the firing mechanism and is repressible by the trigger or an independent lever to cock the hammer for double-action or single-action firing. A loader, comprising two hingedly interconnected disks juxtaposable to bracket the end flanges of a set of cartridges between them, is insertable into a clearance between the rear face of a cylinder and a stationary shield fastened to the frame.

  • Patent number: 4048901
Abstract: An automatic pistol with blowback action, in which a hammer is cocked by the recoil of a slidable breechblock, has a retaining member in the form of an elongate lid detachably secured to the gunstock for holding the breechblock in place, this lid carrying a backstop for a restoring spring tending to thrust the breechblock forwardly. The rear limiting position of the breechblock is defined by a pair of upstanding wings, rigid with the gunstock, against which two lateral shoulders of the breechblock come to rest upon manual arming or after the firing of a cartridge. A swingable control element on the breechblock, entrainable by a setting knob through a lost-motion coupling, has a blocking position in which it prevents the hammer from striking a firing pin lodged in the breechblock; in a working position, this element is movably interposed between the hammer and the firing pin to act as a force-transmitting device upon the release of the hammer by depression of the trigger.
