  • Publication number: 20180027611
Abstract: The present subject matter describes a heating unit. The heating unit comprises a heating element and a controlling unit coupled to the heating element to determine a desired value of a direct current (DC) voltage based on heating element parameters. The desired value is a value of DC voltage desired for operation of the heating element. The controlling unit computes a value of a duty cycle parameter based on device input parameters and the desired value of the DC voltage. The heating unit further comprises a power factor correction (PFC) unit coupled to the controlling unit and the heating element to convert an input alternating current (AC) voltage, received by the PFC unit from an AC supply, to a direct current (DC) voltage of the desired value based on the duty cycle parameter. The PFC unit provides the DC voltage to the heating element.

  • Patent number: 9851588
Abstract: An eyewear with a pair of light emitting diodes (LED) matrices is an apparatus that enhances the aesthetic appeal of the eyewear by illuminating different patterns and letterings with the pair of LED matrices. A left lens and a right lens each have an LED matrix, which traverse through and protrude out of their respective lens. Both LED matrices are electronically connected to a programmable microcontroller, which is able to turn on/off each individual LED in order to create the patterns and letterings on the LED matrices. The microphone and VU meter also allows the LED matrices to display patterns and lettering that relate to the music or sounds around the apparatus. Each individual LED for both LED matrices are properly spaced apart from each other so that visibility is not significantly reduced while wearing the apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20160340142
Abstract: In some examples, a media stacker includes a drawer defining a chamber, and a plurality of moving elements to engage media sheets of different sizes as the media sheets are output from a system. The plurality of moving elements are to slide the media sheets to a target position in the drawer, and the plurality of moving elements are to disengage from the media sheets once the media sheets have reached the target position. A plurality of retaining elements are to engage the media sheets of the different sizes as the media sheets slide into the drawer.

  • Patent number: 8996394
Abstract: A set of decision activities can be provided to a business process management and design software tool. The tool can be used to define various processes that contain one or more activities linked by transitions. During process design time, a business analyst can identify process-relevant data of the process to be presented to the end users. The relevant data can be rendered to the end users at runtime, along with a set of possible options for the activities in a process instance. Upon receiving a decision of the user, the process instance can follow the selected transition to a different activity. Over time, the system can capture the decisions taken by users and enter the data associated with these decisions into a data classifier. In doing so, the software tool can generate suggestions, provide probabilities, automate and distribute workloads, flag abnormalities and deviations and generally improve process design and management.

  • Patent number: 8387973
Abstract: According to one example, there is provided a controller readable medium on which are stored controller readable instructions. The instructions are such that, when executed by a controller, perform the steps of commencing the printing of a print job on a media sheet, determining when about half of the media sheet ejected out of a printer media output is at the level of a stacker unit, activating a first array of fans to retain a portion of the ejected media sheet, completing the print job, and activating a second array of fans to blow the trailing edge of the ejected media sheet over the stacker unit.

  • Patent number: 7188496
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for detecting the vibrations of a roll stand (1) equipped with a hydraulic jack (6) as a device for adjusting the rolling rolls (4, 5). The hydraulic jack comprises a sensor (64) for measuring the position of the mobile portion relative to the fixed portion, this sensor supplying a digital signal (POS). In the method of the invention, the vibrations are detected by direct observation of the position signal (POS) and a comparison thereof relative to a spatio-temporal window (F) whose dimensions are determined as a function of the frequency to be detected. In accordance with the invention, it is possible to define different observation windows (F) suitable for the detection of different vibratory phenomena.
