  • Publication number: 20230173150
Abstract: An apparatus includes a telescopic plunger extending between a proximal end and a distal end. The telescopic plunger includes a plurality of telescoping segments. The plurality of telescoping segments are secured together in an end-to-end configuration and expandable between a collapsed position and an expanded position. The apparatus further includes a collection container secured to the distal end of the telescopic plunger. The collection container defines a barrel having at least one inner wall. The collection container is configured to hold a liquid containing fat molecules therein. As such, a distal-most telescoping segment of the plurality of telescoping segments of the telescopic plunger is configured to sweep the inner wall(s) of the collection container to remove the fat molecules from the inner wall(s) of the collection container.

  • Patent number: 10925704
Abstract: An interproximal articulation holder (10) has an arm (12) having a handle (11) at one end and an oppositely disposed holding head (16). The holding head is part of a marking portion (13) which also includes a piece of articulation film (18) having a generally rectangular shaped exposed area (18?) extending beyond the holding head (16). The arm or holding head may include a score or score line (19) which enables the arm or head to be manually bent at an angle. This arm may also include forming notches (20) to aid in the bending process. The handle, arm and holding head may be formed of two or more outer layers of stock paper (21) laminated together with an inner layer of the wax coated articulation film positioned or sandwiched between the stock paper layers.

  • Publication number: 20190321151
Abstract: A dental prophy orbiter is provided which includes a main housing having a shaft channel which receives a drive shaft configured to be coupled to a conventional dental rotating hand piece or to an angled portion which in turn is coupled to a hand piece. The main housing also includes a top surface with an centrally offset rod channel. The prophy orbiter also includes a polishing head coupled to the main housing for free, spinning rotational movement relative to the main housing. The polishing head includes a mounting rod configured to be rotationally received within the rod channel. The drive shaft is aligned along a longitudinal axis while the mounting rod is centrally offset, or axially or radially offset, from the drive shaft and the longitudinal axis along the drive shaft. A foam prophy pad is coupled to the mounting plate.

  • Publication number: 20180368938
Abstract: A dental light (10/60) is disclosed having a housing (11/61) with a first leg (13/63), a second leg (14/64), and a middle portion (16/66). The first leg includes a light chamber (21/71) configured to receive and hold a small light source (22/72). The second leg includes a battery compartment (26/76) configured to house a battery source (29/79). The dental light is coupled to a patient's mouth, specifically the patient's lip, with the first leg residing within the interior of the mouth and the second leg position outside the mouth. The patient's lip should reside comfortably within the space (38/88) between the first and second legs.

  • Publication number: 20180250173
Abstract: A dental absorbent pad (10) has a moisture permeable outer layer (11) which is folded upon itself to form a top side (12), a bottom side (13), and a peripheral margin area (15). The folded outer layer forms a cavity between the top side and the bottom side which is filled with a mass of unsupported, free-flowing granular superabsorbent material (16). The mass of granular superabsorbent material may be grains of sodium salt of cross linked polyacrylic acid with a grain size or diameter of 1 to 850 microns.

  • Publication number: 20150305757
Abstract: The embodiments of the present disclosure may provide an apparatus used in ureteroscopy, a widespread method of treating kidney stones by enclosing the stone in a sheath before breaking it into a plurality of fragments with a fragmenting device. The configuration of the disclosed mesh top to a sheath may improve the practice of ureteroscopy by facilitating the removal of kidney stone fragments. The apparatus may comprise a sheath; a mesh top comprising: a first end having an opening into the interior of the mesh top, and a second end being attached to the sheath; and an enclosing means, wherein the mesh top is configured to: receive an object within an interior of the mesh top, enclose, via the enclosing means, the object within the mesh top, receive a fragmenting device through a second end, and retain fragments of the object caused by an operation of the fragmenting device.
