  • Publication number: 20230061096
Abstract: A method for aircraft maintenance comprises loading, into computer memory, a plurality of unstructured aircraft component records originating from one or more different component status monitors, the plurality of unstructured aircraft component records describing observed maintenance conditions of a plurality of different aircraft components. The plurality of unstructured aircraft component records are provided from computer memory to a natural language processing (NLP) model configured to output a corresponding plurality of digital component, condition, and location (CCL) records for the plurality of different aircraft components. CCL records for a plurality of different CCL types are independently computer aggregated. The CCL records for a selected CCL type are computer aggregated to determine a time-dependent failure distribution for the selected CCL type.

  • Publication number: 20210239215
Abstract: A number of tacky polyurethane or other gel comprising composites are provided. The composites have foam carriers, which may be open cell, semi-open cell, reticulated or closed-cell foam. The tacky gel which, in one embodiment, may be polyurethane, typically comprising a thin surface coating on the foam gel and the foam is partially or fully saturated with the same gel comprising the thin surface layer of the foam. The skeletons may be included in the composite to provide additional structure integrity, and a moisture proof layer may be added to the top and/or bottom surfaces of the foam/gel.

  • Publication number: 20210041023
Abstract: A gasket is provided with a tacky polyurethane or polyurea gel body and a metallic mesh skeleton where the skeleton has been coated with a conversion coating. The conversion coating helps reduce corrosion in the gasket and corrosion on the parts that place the gasket under compression, especially where an environment conducive to galvanic corrosion is present. This gasket may then be used in assemblies which include aircraft parts, which parts may be subject to extreme environmental conditions.

  • Publication number: 20160017999
Abstract: A gasket for compressible placement between a first surface and a second surface is disclosed. In one embodiment, the gasket has a cellular metal skeleton embedded in a viscoelastic, pliable, deformable tacky polymer body. The skeleton has multiple strands, which connect to form multiple interconnected cells or pores. The skeleton, prior to being encapsulated in the tacky polymer body, is typically about 75% or more void space. The void space is substantially filled in the manufacture of the gasket, with the tacky uncured polymer. The uncured polymer will set up or cure, and then the gasket may be used.
