  • Patent number: 9157992
Abstract: Various embodiments are described herein for a detector and method that perform various types of CFAR detection on radar data including knowledge-aided CFAR detection, hybrid-CFAR detection and simplified censored CFAR detection. Knowledge about the type of local environment of a Cell Under Test and the proximity of the Cell Under Test to various types of noise can be used to select particular types of CFAR detection methods or combinations thereof. In other instances, certain parameters of a CFAR detection method can be adapted based on this knowledge.

  • Patent number: 9066206
Abstract: A method for providing on-demand service information is provided. One or more processors determine, for a given geographic region, position information for each of a plurality of requesters for an on-demand service and position information for each of a plurality of service providers that can provide the on-demand service. A plurality of sub-regions is identified for the given geographic region. Based, at least in part, on the position information of the requesters and the service providers, one or more sub-regions are determined as being under-supplied by the plurality of service providers as compared to one or more other sub-regions. Information identifying the under-supplied sub-regions are provided to one or more service provider devices.

  • Patent number: 8976059
Abstract: In one aspect, a method to identify and remove a false detection includes receiving a detection from a constant false alarm rate (CFAR) processor, performing a first similarity measure on adjacent coherent integration time values (CITs) corresponding to the detection, performing a second similarity measure on neighbor CITs corresponding to the detection, determining if at least one of the first or second similarity measure is below a threshold and discarding the detection if at least one of the first or second similarity measures is below the threshold.

  • Publication number: 20140274769
Abstract: Provided are methods of treating breast cancer in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of an inhibitor of miR-105 or an inhibitor of miR-122 are provided. Also provided herein are methods of determining a level of miR-105 or a level of miR-122 in a subject that has or is at risk for developing breast cancer. The method includes obtaining a biological sample from the subject and determining a level of miR-105 or a level of miR-122 or a combination thereof in the biological sample, wherein a higher level of miR-105 or miR-122 as compared to a control indicates that the subject has or is at risk of developing breast cancer.

  • Patent number: 8386478
Abstract: Methods and systems for receiving feedback from a user regarding the relevance of search results to a search query are provided. The method includes presenting at least one search result responsive to a search query by the user, selecting ones of the at least one search result that are determined by the user to be relevant to the search query, and increasing a relevance ranking of the selected search results in future searches based on the determination.

  • Patent number: 7685196
Abstract: Methods and systems for a computer-implemented method for managing service requests from a customer by a business entity are provided. The method includes generating a project folder relating to a first service request received from the customer by a first user, searching a plurality of information sources using keywords relating to the customer request, storing working documents responsive to the search request in the project folder that is accessible by at least one of the first user and a second user, and organizing the project folder in a database with meta data to describe the task content such that at least one of the first user and the second user can later locate the working documents during a subsequent search for a second service request similar to the first service request using the project folder such that an amount of time to answer the similar service request is facilitated being reduced.
