  • Publication number: 20240101117
Abstract: A number of illustrative variations may include a system including brake-to-steer algorithms may achieve lateral control of a vehicle without longitudinal compensation but may also force a vehicle to slow down too rapidly before appropriate lateral movement can be achieved and may deliver an unnatural driving experience for vehicle occupants. A more natural feeling deceleration may be achieved by optimally selecting appropriate transmission shifts to allow for optimal engine speed or electric motor speed and torque based on current vehicle speed thereby reducing undesirably longitudinal disturbance.

  • Publication number: 20240083414
Abstract: After a driver parks a vehicle and has left the vehicle, a system relocates the autonomous vehicle into an optimized parking spot. The system obtains availability of other parking spots within a parking lot in which the vehicle is located. The system estimates whether any alternate parking spot would optimize cabin temperature and whether the energy consumed to complete an autonomous relocation of the vehicle will obtain a net savings in fuel economy relative to the energy expended by the relocation. The system determines the benefits of these optimized parking spots by using shaded and unshaded areas, GPS location of the vehicle, current date and time, and weather and fuel consumption estimates. If a favorable parking spot is determined, the autonomous vehicle relocates into the optimal alternate parking spot and informs the driver of the new location.

Abstract: Secondary barriers for aircraft are disclosed. An example secondary barrier includes a plurality of tracks to mount to a first monument in a cabin of an aircraft and a plurality of rods, where respective ones of the rods slidably engage respective ones of the tracks. The secondary barrier includes a panel coupled to respective ends of the rods. The rods to move relative to the tracks between a stowed position and a deployed position. The panel in the deployed position is to interface with a second monument in the cabin opposite the first monument. The rods are to extend between the first monument and the second monument when the secondary barrier is in the deployed position.
