Abstract: A round baler includes a pick-up unit for picking up crop material from the ground, a baling chamber which receives the crop material from the pick-up unit, and a press mounted within the baling chamber for forming a bale during a bale formation cycle. The baler also includes a binding unit for dispensing a binding material for binding the bale, a tailgate displaceable by an actuator from a closed position at the beginning of a bale formation cycle to an open position to dispense the bale after the binding cycle. A sensor detects a first tailgate position after the bale formation cycle and before the binding cycle, and detects a second tailgate position after the binding cycle and before displacing the tailgate to the opened position. A controller is responsive to the sensor by determining a tailgate position change between the second tailgate position and the first tailgate position.

Abstract: A wrapping arrangement for an agricultural round baler includes a support frame and a wrapping mechanism including at least one wrap material feeder mounted on the support frame. The wrap material feeder includes a supply of wrap material. At least one wrap material clamp and cutting device is operably mounted to the wrap material feeder, and a clamp mechanism is mounted proximate to the wrap material clamp and cutting device. The clamp mechanism is adapted to clamp a free end of the wrap material by a biasing clamping force for pre-positioning the wrap material for functional operation with the wrapping mechanism.

Abstract: A bale wrapping device for a round baler includes a drive roll which can be brought into engagement with a wrapping material roll, and a drive and brake device connected to the drive roll. The drive and brake device is connected both to a variably tensionable drive belt and to a variably tensionable brake belt.

Abstract: A web wrap apparatus is provided having a separator with a separating edge and a feeder transporting web to a bale chamber. In order to keep the separating edge free of dirt, web fibers, etc. a stripper is connected to the feeder, which during a relative movement with respect to the separator strips along the separating edge and removes any particles sticking thereto.
