  • Patent number: 5226625
Abstract: In the preferred embodiment, a fluid dispenser having a container, a mounting bracket, a latch and a lid. The container and bracket have first interengaging members for supporting the container on the bracket and second interengaging members for maintaining the container on the bracket, the lid and bracket have third interengaging members for pivotally mounting the lid on the bracket with pivot pins on the lid and pivot slots on the bracket for forward movement and upward pivoting of the lid relative to the bracket and container. The lid and container have fourth interengaging members for holding the lid in a closed position on the container, and the lid and bracket have fifth interengaging members for maintaining the lid in the closed position on the container when the latch is in the latched position. The latch preferably is formed integral with the bracket as a single component. An alternative embodiment with a pivoted cover for the container.

  • Patent number: 4964544
Abstract: A push up fluid dispenser having a fluid storage container and a vertically oriented plunger carried in the container, with the plunger being manually pushable upward for dispensing fluid from the container. The container includes a valve cylinder mounted in the container and having an upper opening and an interior passage for slidingly receiving the plunger, and the plunger having a fluid flow passage therein providing a flow path from the cylinder interior to the exterior of the dispenser. A first one-way valve is disposed for control of fluid flow into the cylinder interior through an upper opening and a second one-way valve is disposed for control of fluid flow from the cylinder interior into the plunger passage, with a spring between the cylinder and plunger urging the plunger downward.

  • Patent number: 4949877
Abstract: A fluid dispenser having a fluid storage container and a plunger carried in the container, with the plunger being manually pushable inward for dispensing fluid from the container. The container includes a valve cylinder mounted in the container and having an inner opening and an interior passage for slidingly receiving the plunger, with the plunger having a fluid flow passage therein providing a flow path from the cylinder interior to the exterior of the dispenser. A one-way capsule valve is positioned for control of the fluid flow into the cylinder interior and another one-way valve is disposed for control of the fluid flow from the cylinder interior into the plunger passage. The capsule valve comprises a disk assembly of a relatively rigid washer with a central opening, and a relatively flexible resilient seal having an annular rim enclosing the washer and a central flapper joined to the rim and overlying the washer central opening.

  • Patent number: 4908906
Abstract: The present invention provides an ambulatory assistance device such as a grab bar or the like which pivots between a non-in-use and an in-use position. The pivoting of the device is assisted by a torsion member acting between the base member and the body. The torsion device is selected so as to retain the body in its non-in-use position when placed in that position. The weight of the pivoting body of the present invention overcomes the force generated by the torsion member when the body is placed in the in-use position so as to retain that orientation. Moreover, the torsion member acts to assist the user of the device in counteracting the weight of the pivoting body member when the body member is moved between the non-in-used position and the in-use position.

  • Patent number: 4830232
Abstract: A valve for dispensing a liquid such as soap or hand lotion, from a fluid dispenser. A valve body for mounting in the fluid dispenser and having a valve chamber with a rolling diaphragm carried in the body dividing the chamber into a piston section and a fluid flow section. A piston is slidingly positioned in the piston section and a flow restrictor is slidingly positioned in the fluid flow section, with a spring in the fluid flow section urging the restrictor into engagement with the diaphragm for moving the piston to the out position. A fluid inlet and a fluid outlet are provided in the fluid flow section so that an inward movement of the piston dispenses fluid and an outward or return motion of the piston draws a new charge of fluid into the valve.
