The meta-atoms overlap complementarily between the two sides of the dielectric substrate and are periodically arranged into at least two groups covering a space region the angular radiation pattern of a planar array antenna. The geometric dimensions of the meta-atoms vary within each group so that to form an electromagnetic transmissive phase gradient within that group and different from one group to another.
