  • Patent number: 8575056
Abstract: The present invention describes a method of preparing a catalytic composition used for oligomerization, co-dimerization or polymerization of olefins, wherein the compound obtained upon contacting at least one iron compound with at least one nitrogen-containing compound is subjected to an oxidation stage prior to being mixed with an activating agent and optionally with a solvent. The present invention also describes the catalytic composition obtained by means of said preparation method and the use thereof for oligomerization, co-dimerization or polymerization of olefins.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 10, 2008
Date of Patent: November 5, 2013
    Assignee: IFP Energies nouvelles

  • Publication number: 20130210089
Abstract: The present invention concerns a process for the conversion of lignocellulosic biomass into sugars, comprising at least three steps. The first step is a step for cooking the lignocellulosic biomass in the presence of at least one hydrated inorganic salt mixed with at least one other metallic salt. The second step is a step for separating at least one solid fraction which has undergone the cooking step, and the third step is a step for enzymatic hydrolysis of said solid fraction to convert the polysaccharides into monosaccharides. The sugars obtained thereby can then be fermented into alcohols.

  • Patent number: 7256152
Abstract: A composition defined: either as comprising at least one Broensted acid, designated HB, dissolved in a liquid medium with an ionic nature of general formula Q+A?, in which Q+ represents an organic cation and A? represents an anion that is different from B, or as resulting from dissolving at least one Broensted acid, designated HB, in a non-aqueous liquid medium with an ionic nature of general formula Q+A?, in which Q+ represents an organic cation and A? represents an anion that is identical to the anion B, can be used as a catalyst and solvent in acid catalysis processes, in particular in the alkylation of aromatic hydrocarbons, the oligomerization of olefins, the dimerization of isobutene, the alkylation of olefins by isoparaffins, the isomerization of n-paraffins into isoparaffins, the isomerization of n-olefins into iso-olefins, the isomerization of the double bond of an olefin and the purification of an olefin mixture that contains branched alpha olefins as impurities.
