  • Publication number: 20240154409
Abstract: A supply system includes first, second and third supply terminals, a voltage regulating terminal, and an output terminal electrically connected to the voltage regulating terminal. A first battery generates a first supply voltage between the first and second terminals, and a second battery generates a second supply voltage between the second and third terminals. The second battery is connected in series with the first battery to deliver a first output voltage between the third and first supply terminals. A DC-to-DC voltage converter, in a first operating mode, converts the first output voltage into a second output voltage between the regulating terminal and the first supply terminal, the second output voltage being lower than the first output voltage, and in a second operating mode, it does not regulate the voltage between the regulating terminal and the first supply terminal.

  • Patent number: 8443771
Abstract: A valve actuator for a combustion engine has a movable member for collaborating with a stem of a valve, and an electromagnetic device with a permanent magnet associated with a resilient device for moving the movable member between an extreme valve-closed position and an extreme valve-open position. A method of controlling the valve actuator has the steps of determining a clearance range between the movable member and the valve stem during the movement of the movable member between the extreme closed and open positions, determining, in the clearance range, intermediate positions reached by the movable member as a function of different values of an electrical control parameter of the electromagnetic device, and using positional feedback control to control the electromagnetic device, using one of the intermediate positions as a setpoint value, according to the desired performance of the actuator.

  • Patent number: 8169284
Abstract: The invention relates to an electromagnetic actuator including an actuating member associated with an armature and able to move under the action of at least one electromagnet, a coil, and a core suitable for channeling a flux of the coil so that the flux closes within the armature, where the core includes a base from which branches extend, including a central branch around which the coil extends, and two permanent magnets which are associated with the core. The two permanent magnets are placed in the central branch of the core in order to form a V, which separates the central branch into two parts so that any section of the core or the armature through which the flux from one or the other of the permanent magnets can pass, has an area large enough to prevent saturation by this flux.

  • Patent number: 7946261
Abstract: An electromagnetic actuator including an actuating member associated with an armature and able to move between two extreme positions under the action of an elastic member and two electromagnets that attract the armature to one of the extreme positions, where the electromagnets each include a coil, a core for channeling a flux of the coil so that it forms a return path in the armature, and permanent magnets associated with the core so that the latter channels a flux of the permanent magnets so that it forms a return path in the armature, where the permanent magnets of one of the electromagnets exert a force on the armature sufficient to retain the armature in the associated extreme position against the springs, and where the permanent magnets of the other electromagnet exerts a force on the armature insufficient to retain the armature in the associated extreme position against the springs.

  • Patent number: 7900885
Abstract: An electromagnetic actuator includes a coil, a core designed to channel a flux of the coil so as to form a return path in an armature, the core having a base from which branches extend, including a central branch around which the coil extends, and two permanent magnets associated with the core so that the latter channels a flux of the permanent magnets so as to form a return path in the armature, the flux of the coil passing through the magnets. The two permanent magnets are placed in the central branch of the core so as to form a V, which separates the central branch into a support part, which supports the permanent magnets and is integral with the base, and an end part lying above the permanent magnets. The end part has an active face facing the armature in which a groove lies parallel to the permanent magnets.
