    Abstract: The present invention provides methods of treatment and/or prevention of infections, for example, viral and bacterial infections, in individuals, wherein the method comprises administering a supraphysiological amount of mannose-binding lectin (MLB) and/or ficolin-MBL fusion protein to an individual afflicted with an infection or at risk of an infection, such as a bacterial or a viral infection. For example, methods for treatment and/or prevention of Ebola virus infection are provided.
