  • Publication number: 20160255646
Abstract: A low complexity user equipment (40) includes maximum size restriction, such as a maximum transport block size, for simultaneous downlink transmissions. When the user equipment (40) receives simultaneous downlink transmission exceeding the maximum size restriction, the user equipment (40) is allowed to skip decoding of one or more of the downlink transmission (e.g.,one or more transport blocks) according to a predetermined set of rules.

  • Publication number: 20160242206
Abstract: According to some embodiments, a method in a wireless device of a wireless communication network comprises receiving scheduling information for one or more System Information (SI) messages. The wireless device determines a coverage enhancement level associated with each of the one or more SI messages based on the received scheduling information. The wireless device also determines a coverage enhancement level of the wireless device. After identifying a subset of the one or more SI messages based on the determined coverage enhancement level of the wireless device, the wireless device acquires a SI message from the identified subset of the one or more SI messages.

  • Publication number: 20160219508
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to transmitting assistance information from a first node to a second node. In one embodiment, a first node includes a wireless transmitter and a wireless receiver. In response to transmitting a preference indicator for a first configuration to a second node via the wireless transmitter or receiving a reconfiguration request associated with the preference indicator for the first configuration, the first node starts a timer set to a value that defines an amount of time before the first node is permitted to transmit a preference indicator for a second configuration to the second node. The first node then blocks transmission of the preference indicator for the second configuration to the second node until the timer has expired. In this manner, excessive signaling of preference indicators from the first node to the second node is avoided.

  • Publication number: 20160192292
Abstract: According to one aspect, there is provided a method of operating a network node in a communication network with the communication network comprising at least one mobile device that is operating in a discontinuous reception, DRX, mode with a DRX cycle length that is longer than a modification period in the network. In the method, when an update to system information is to occur in an updated information modification period, the modification period immediately preceding the updated information modification period comprising a change notification modification period, a paging message is transmitted to the mobile device during a modification period other than the change notification modification period and the updated information modification period, the paging message informing the mobile device that an update to system information is to occur in the updated information modification period.

  • Publication number: 20160150433
Abstract: Methods, devices, and computer program products for status reporting in a network are provided. In some embodiments, mechanisms to delay responding to a received request for status information (“a polling request”) or the triggering or transmission of a status message caused by a reception of a polling request, or to delay the triggering or transmission of the polling request itself are provided, such that redundant transmissions maybe minimized and power consumption may be optimized.

  • Publication number: 20160057806
Abstract: A method in a User Equipment, UE, for managing an extended Discontinuous Reception, DRX, cycle mode. The UE is operating in a network and is in a Radio Resource Control, RRC, connected state. The UE enters (401) the extended DRX cycle mode when a first criterion is satisfied. The first criterion relates to anyone or more out of that the UE has not been scheduled by the network during a specific time duration, that the UE has completed a predefined or configured number of long DRX cycles when being in a long DRX cycle mode, that the UE has received an order from the network to enter to the extended DRX cycle mode.

  • Publication number: 20160050624
Abstract: There is provided a method performed by a wireless device for managing a sleep state when a Discontinuous Reception, DRX, cycle of the wireless device is configured to be longer than a predefined value. The method comprises the following steps. Determining a future point in time indicating an upcoming, future reception occasion at which the wireless device will receive a message. Entering the sleep state. Keeping track of time during the sleep state according to a first time format by using a clock. Waking-up from the sleep state before, as monitored by the clock, the future point in time. Reading broadcasted time information according to a second time format. Obtaining System Frame Number, SFN, synchronization based on the broadcasted time information according to the second time format and received System Frame Number, SFN, information. Receiving, with obtained SFN synchronization, the message at the future point in time.

  • Publication number: 20160028533
Abstract: According to some embodiments, a method in a user equipment (UE), the UE capable of operating in half-duplex mode and is served by a network node, comprises obtaining a parameter indicative of a round trip time for a radio communication between the UE and the network node and comparing the obtained parameter with a threshold. The method further comprises determining, based on a result of the comparison of the parameter and the threshold, a switching time for switching the UE between uplink and downlink time resources and switching between uplink and downlink time resources within the determined switching time. In particular embodiments, the switching time comprises a first number of time resources (e.g., one) if the parameter is less than the threshold and a second number of time resources (e.g., two) if the parameter is greater than the threshold.

  • Publication number: 20160014593
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for improving the reporting of mobility information are disclosed. An example method, suitable for implementation in a mobile terminal such as an LTE UE, begins with the detecting of a transition from idle state to connected state. The mobile terminal subsequently transmits mobility information to the network in response to or in connection with the transition. The mobility information sent to the network includes one or more of several information elements or information types, including a list of recently visited cells, including information specifying a time-of-stay in each cell, or timestamp information that can be used to derive the mobile terminal's time in each cell. GPS-based speed information or other generic speed information may be included. Complementary methods for implementation in a base station and corresponding apparatus are also disclosed.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for improving the reporting of mobility information are disclosed. An example method, suitable for implementation in a mobile terminal such as an LTE UE, begins with the detecting (410) of a transition from idle state to connected state. • Publication number: 20150257049
Abstract: The UE, source eNodeB, and/or target eNodeB use one or more existing Radio Resource Control (RRC) messages already available during handover to exchange at least one status report comprising UE assistance information, such as power preference indicators (PPI). The UE and the target eNodeB are thus able to obtain the same up-to-date UE status without any additional signaling. In one embodiment, the UE exchanges a handover preparation status report with the target eNodeB using a first RRC reconfiguration message transmitted from the source eNodeB to the UE, where the handover preparation status report is generated during handover preparation by the target eNodeB. In another embodiment, the UE exchanges a handover execution status report with the target eNodeB during handover execution using a second RRC reconfiguration message transmitted from the UE to the target eNodeB, where the handover execution status report is generated during handover execution.
