Abstract: A UE may determine a number of antenna ports associated with a frequency band that includes one or more CCs. The determined number of antenna ports may be based on a plurality of UL Tx chains for the one or more CCs/frequency band. The UE may switch from a first UL Tx chain to a second UL Tx chain, at least one of which may be associated with the one or more CCs/frequency band. The number of antenna ports may correspond to a maximum number of antenna ports of an individual CC of the one or more CCs, or to a sum of antenna ports of the one or more CCs. For the latter, the number of antenna ports may be limited to an available number of UE antenna ports when the sum of antenna ports is greater than the available number of UE antenna ports.

Abstract: In one or more embodiments, a method for applying a thermal interface material (TIM) to a heat sink involves treating a plurality of sections of a base layer around at least a portion of a perimeter of the heat sink to form a continuous roughness edge and positioning the TIM relative to the heat sink such that the TIM extends for contact with the roughness edge. The roughness edge is based on reducing the adhesion force between the TIM and the base layer, wherein the TIM is easier to remove from the roughness edge, resulting in easier and cleaner removal of the TIM from the heat sink.

Abstract: A carbon dioxide (CO2) minimizing refurbishable fan assembly for an information handling system may comprise a refurbishable motor assembly including a re-used bushing mechanically affixed to a re-used exterior housing and disposed through central openings of a re-used printed circuit board assembly and a re-used motor. A replaceable bushing assembly, including a replaceable bearing housed within a replaceable bushing to form a bearing aperture for receiving an impeller drive shaft of an impeller assembly, the re-usable motor for generating an electro-magnetic field for interacting with magnets on the impeller assembly to drive rotation of the impeller assembly when the aligned impeller drive shaft is disposed in a bearing aperture of the replaceable bushing assembly to reduce noise and wear on the impeller drive shaft and the replaceable bushing assembly.

Hinge bracket rotation translates through the gear subassembly for synchronized housing rotation. The hinge main body has first and second semicircular portions with a smooth surface defined to accept the outer circumference smooth surface of the gear member semicircular shape at first and second rotation axes about which the hinge brackets pivot so that the display film has space to fold in the closed position.

Abstract: A thermal management technique reduces heat transferred to a user while maintaining mechanical strength of an outer housing of an information handling system. In at least one embodiment, an information handling system includes an outer housing and a thermal management structure adjacent to an inner lateral surface of the outer housing. The thermal management structure includes a porous layer configured to increase thermal resistance in a first direction orthogonal to the inner lateral surface of the outer housing. The porous layer may include a honeycomb structure formed from a metal or a metal alloy. The porous layer may include a metal foam.

Abstract: Disclosed is a covering for an information handling system. The covering includes an aluminum alloy layer that can include at least a portion of recycled aluminum. The covering includes a copper heat pipe that can include at least a portion of recycled copper. The heat pipe and the aluminum alloy layer can be directly coupled to each other, with a heat-conductive carbonaceous material provided at the interface between the aluminum alloy layer and the heat pipe.

Abstract: Disclosed is a covering for an information handling system. The covering includes a first layer and a second layer. The first layer is a polylactic acid layer that can be reinforced with a reinforcing component, such as glass fibers. The second layer is an aluminum layer, and can include at least 50% recycled aluminum. The outer surface of the first layer may be provided with a graphene-containing coating that can help improve thermal management.

Abstract: A multi-layer bezel for a flexible information handling system (IHS) display may include a die-cut polycarbonate rectangular frame layer, a die cut low durometer foam layer, aligned with and disposed below the polycarbonate rectangular frame layer and a polymer layer aligned with the polycarbonate rectangular frame layer. In various implementations the rectangular frame layer may have a first open-sided rectangular frame segment and a complementary second open-sided rectangular frame segment. The die-cut polycarbonate may be transparent and back-printed with sensor openings for IHS components. The bezel may be a multi-layer stack-up that is die cut to define the bezel. Alternatively, the bezel may be defined by a domed polyurethane upper layer disposed on the die cut polycarbonate rectangular frame layer on a side of the polycarbonate rectangular frame layer opposite the die cut low durometer foam layer.
