  • Patent number: 4209455
Abstract: Aminoorganosilicon compounds containing a single acylamino group and at least one secondary and/or tertiary amino group in the same substituent radical.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 29, 1978
Date of Patent: June 24, 1980
    Assignee: Union Carbide Corporation
    Inventor: Enrico J. Pepe
  • Patent number: 4163073
Abstract: Polyester aminoalkylalkoxysilanes are provided by effecting the Michael addition reaction of an unsaturated conjugated polyester having a molecular weight of at least 1000 with an aminoalkylalkoxysilane. The said polyester aminoalkylalkoxysilanes have utility as adhesion promoters between inorganic siliceous materials and organic resins. When the inorganic siliceous material is glass cloth or fibers, the polyester aminoalkylalkoxysilanes have dual utility as (a) a size or protective coating for glass cloth or fibers and (b) an adhesion promoter between said glass cloth or fibers and said organic resins. Also provided are polyester aminoalkylalkoxysilanes that are formed by the linear chain-extension of an unsaturated conjugated polyester with an organic diisocyanate prior to the Michael addition of an aminoalkylalkoxysilane.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 17, 1978
Date of Patent: July 31, 1979
    Assignee: Union Carbide Corporation
Inventors: Enrico J. Pepe, James G. Marsden
  • Patent number: 4046794
Abstract: This invention relates to urea containing silicon compounds ##STR1## AND THE USES THEREOF, PARTICULARLY AS COUPLING AGENTS ON GLASS AND TO THE SIMILAR USE OF SUBSTITUTED UREA CONTAINING SILICON COMPOUNDS.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 18, 1973
Date of Patent: September 6, 1977
    Assignee: Union Carbide Corporation
Inventors: Enrico J. Pepe, James G. Marsden
  • Patent number: 3959327
Abstract: The invention relates to novel silicon compounds formed by the reaction of a thiolactone or polythiolactone and an aminoalkyl silane or siloxane. These materials are useful to enhance adhesion of various resins and elastomers to inorganic substrates or to accellerate the cure of elastomers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 2, 1971
Date of Patent: May 25, 1976
    Assignee: Union Carbide Corporation
Inventors: Enrico J. Pepe, James G. Marsden
