  • Publication number: 20130032062
Abstract: A convertible desk comprises a first furniture module, a second furniture module, and a bridge for joining the modules together. The first module maybe a file cart, and the second module may be a chest of drawers. Notches are formed at the upper ends of the modules, and the bridge fits into notches to form a continuous planar horizontal surface for a desk top. Connections, such as depending pins, and cavities to receive the pins, are located at each corner of the bridge, to retain the bridge in a fixed position. When the user wishes to covert the desk to another piece of furniture, such as a storage unit, the pins on the bridge are removed from the cavities and the bridge is set aside so that the modules are free to be re-arranged in an abutting or side-by-side manner.

  • Patent number: 8235616
Abstract: A molded, plastic safety closure adapted for use on a nail polish bottle. Closure includes an inner cap, and an overcap that fits over the inner cap in a telescoping manner. Inner cap includes a hollow cylindrical section, a top wall, a plurality of teeth spaced about the top wall, a post extends upwardly from said top wall, and pawls are spaced around the post. Overcap includes a plurality of complementary teeth spaced about its interior, and vanes spaced around the interior of the overcap. The two sets of teeth are normally maintained apart by spring fingers that provide an upwardly directed biasing force. When the closure is subjected to a downwardly directed force, the two sets of teeth are brought in alignment, and the vanes and pawl cooperate to provide a ratchet mechanism. The inner cap and outer cap are rotated as a unit, and provide sufficient torque to unseat the closure, and allow access to the contents of the nail polish bottle.

  • Publication number: 20110308048
Abstract: A resilient clip can be secured to a pack of cigarettes. The clip comprising a pair of parallel legs joined by a U-shaped, upwardly opening bend; the clip is slipped into engagement with the pack of cigarettes, and one wall of the pack is grasped therebetween. A resilient band encircles the perimeter of a lighter. A magnetic member on one of the legs of the clip fits into a recess in a magnetic detent incorporated into the resilient band, so that the cigarette lighter is retained in proximity to the clip and the pack of cigarettes. The lighter is always available to light the cigarettes when withdrawn from the pack.

  • Patent number: 7444771
Abstract: A device for continuously or intermittently displaying graphic material, such as advertisements on the side or rear of a moving vehicle. The vehicle is provided with various sensors which determine the speed of the vehicle as well as whether the vehicle has been parked for a predetermined period of time. Based upon the output of the sensors, the movement of scrolled display containing graphics such as advertisements would be controlled.
