Abstract: A novel method, apparatus, and system are disclosed for a color filtering method to provide assistance to color-blind users in perceiving colors they have difficulty seeing using augmented reality technology. The color filtering method comprises accessing camera data; converting color space of a plurality of pixels of color in the camera data to hue, saturation, and value (HSV) color space; having a user choose at least one color of interest to convert to at least one replacement color; testing the plurality of the pixels of the at least one color of interest and the plurality of the pixels of the at least one replacement color using a formula; replacing the plurality of the pixels of the at least one color of interest with a plurality of the pixels of the at least one replacement color; and displaying a preview of the plurality of the pixels of the at least one replacement color to the color-blind user in real time.
