  • Patent number: 11554936
Abstract: An elevator installation and a method of operating the elevator system for temporary transportation of an overload within the elevator installation includes a car and a counterweight interconnected by one or more suspension ropes engaging a traction sheave that is driven by a motor. The traction between the suspension ropes and the traction sheave is enhanced independently of the counterweight for intended overload operation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 21, 2020
Date of Patent: January 17, 2023
    Assignee: INVENTIO AG
Inventors: Andre Weibel, Enrique Almada, Robert Stalder

  • Patent number: 9061864
Abstract: A method for operating an elevator having a car driven by a motor and at least one brake to stop the car, the method including closing a brake, increasing a torque of the motor until the car moves, and registering a value indicative of the motor torque at which the car moves.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20020163270
Abstract: A permanent magnet electric motor for use in an elevator installation includes a stator and a rotor assembly. The rotor assembly has a frame on which are mounted at least two rings with permanent magnets. The rings are removably mounted and are laterally fixed together by a fastener that also radially aligns the rings. The number of similar rings used defines a rotor length in multiple values of the ring length. The rings can be shifted by a suitable magnetic angle to permit the generation of a skewing effect of the magnets which reduces or eliminates a cogging torque of the motor. The rotor assembly can be easily and quickly installed and/or removed in very small spaces, especially in elevator installations.
