  • Patent number: 6288918
Abstract: Switched power converter with hold-up time and harmonics reduction connected to an AC power mains through a first rectifier means (13) and connected to conversion means (19) supplying a regulated voltage. An energy storage means (16) connected in parallel with the rectifier means (13), absorbs or supplies current to the conversion means (19), by adapting the conducting periods of two switching devices in such a way that determines the voltage level on the storage means (16) and assures a sinusoidal current at input terminals (11, 12). The two switching devices are switched in a complementary manner by means of a first control means included in the energy storage means (16).

  • Patent number: 6137697
Abstract: Universal switched power converter connected to a voltage source and, based on the level of the voltage received, this is applied to a first primary circuit comprising a first switching device (14-1) or to a second primary circuit comprising a second switching device (15-1). Control means (PWM) adapt the conducting period of the switching device connected to input terminals for regulating an output voltage and adapt the conducting period of the switching device not connected to the input terminals for demagnetising the core of a transformer (T) during the non-conducting period of the switching device connected to the input terminals.

  • Patent number: 6096967
Abstract: Electric energy conversion system (4) with heat recovery which converts a first voltage applied to input terminals (11, 12) from an energy supply network, to a second direct voltage which is applied to at least one electronic circuit (2), moreover comprising thermoelectric means (3), which transform the generated heat into electric energy during the normal operation of a first electronic device of the conversion system (4) and the electronic circuit (2), the thermoelectric means (3) generating at their output a third direct voltage, which is applied to the electronic circuit (2).

  • Patent number: 6084783
Abstract: Method for controlling the voltage at the main output of a low power switched power converter in which is generated a first signal (14), representative of the voltage at an auxiliary output which is an image of the main output voltage; it is combined with a second signal (16), representative of an input current to the converter, for generating a first control signal which together with a first reference signal are applied to a first controller means, generating a second control signal. The second control signal together with a second signal coming from an oscillator means are applied to a comparator, generating a switching signal (17) for opening and closing the switching element (6), and consequently the voltage at the main output is regulated.

  • Patent number: 6067240
Abstract: A power distribution system that provides electric power to an electrical device and to an energy storage device. The system includes a rectifier connected to an alternating current mains network to provide a rectified sinusoidal voltage via power leads connected to a charging device that provides DC voltage to the energy storage device. In addition, the electrical device(s) are connected to the power leads and include a plurality of converters, each one being connected to at least one load. Each converter is connected to the power leads in order to supply a DC voltage to its respective load.

  • Patent number: 5867378
Abstract: AC/DC power converter device comprising a full-wave rectifier (R) the output of which is applied to a direct current module which has two outputs: the main output is connected to the load via a capacitor (C1) which transfers a first power level (P1), and the auxiliary output is formed by a capacitor (C2) and a direct current converter (DC) which stores a second power (P2) and transfers it to the load during the full cycle of the input power wave (PE). As a result the second power level (P2) is continuously topping up the first power level (P1).

  • Patent number: 5654879
Abstract: A converter device that transforms an input voltage (VE) into several output voltages (V1, . . . ,VN) includes a transformer (T), a first switching control device (PWM) that generates a first switching control signal (Q1) to control the switching of a first switching element (M1) and thereby regulate a main output of the converter, and a second switching control device (SDCC) that generates a second switching control signal (Q2) which is a function of both the first switching control signal (Q1) and of a second output voltage (V2). This second switching control signal (Q2) controls the switching of a second switching device (SDC) in order to regulate a second output voltage of the converter device.

  • Patent number: 5535112
Abstract: A DC/DC conversion circuit of the type that implements the "forward PWM" topology includes a DC/AC converter, a self-driven synchronous rectifier which rectifies the alternating voltage signal coming from the DC/AC converter, and a filter that filters the rectified signal, thereby obtaining the DC output voltage from the DC/DC conversion circuit. This DC/DC conversion circuit is characterized in that the DC/AC converter includes means to generate an alternating signal with a square waveform that does not take zero instantaneous values such that no current flows through the body diode of either of the transistors of the self-driven synchronous rectifier.
